Do you blame ordinary Russians for 9k dead Ukranian civilians?

Do you blame all Americans for the 100s of thousands dead Iraqis?

It is a small radical minority that perpetrated these horrors.

In any case, American neo-Nazis and other rightwing white supremacist groups train their kids to hate--should you blamed for them?

Putin is looking for a multi-front win here as Netanhayu is part of his wannabe or currently are dictators tribe.

The Israelis may very well focus all their ire on Hamas and rally to Bibi. Then if Trump wins, he has an excuse to reallocate foreign aid from Ukraine to Israel which right wing pundits are already calling for.

Netanyahu just formed a coalition government. How does that fit into this theory?

Lindsey Graham says we’re in a “religious war” now.

Well, I guess someone’s fighting over religion.

I don't have an answer as to how. Seems intractably difficult. Not like problems in this region have been solved after a few thousand years. And while your proposal sounds like a clean and simple way to fix the problem, my argument hasn't been about how to fix it. It's about this effort to justify beforehand the potential killing of large numbers of Palestinians in the process. And it's festooned with misguided blame of ordinary Palenstinians, painting them as all radically violent. That makes it easier to claim such deaths as justified or merely collateral damage.

    Putin is an authoritarian dictator.

America's mission isn't killing all Muslims or killing all Iraqis. And when they killed Iraqi civilians, it was cases of collateral damage, not actively seeking out, terrorizing, and slaughtering civilians.

American neo-Nazis don't run America and are outcasts in American society. They're rightfully treated as lepers.

Hamas's mission for the longest time has been killing as many Jews as possible. And the people of Palestine chose that and celebrate that. Is it all of them? No. But that is the general rule.

There is no comparison. Stop trying to draw one out.

As I read over the comments on this tragedy I am saddened to say…I am very skeptical that humans will ever be able to live peacefully together.
There are people who cannot and will not ever live in peace with their neighbors.
Look at the streets of people in London who are cheering on hamas and isis.
In America, our own politicians are silent on this egregious act of violence.

By trying to justify or explain away not holding others responsible for the actions of a minority in a similar manor to how you hold all Palestinians responsible for what Hamas does is demonstrating my point.

Calling them all violent and/or calling their (potential) deaths as merely collateral damage is a well-worn method of rationalizing deaths as being deserved.

I am not holding all Palestinians responsible. I am holding Palestine as a whole responsible.

Hamas's power is not the consequence of a minority.

    I'm not.

    Not deserved. Potentially necessary.

I am confident Israel will do their best to mitigate civilian casualties to the best of their ability. But you can't save everyone.

If we're talking about the same thing, dozens of American politicians have condemned the atrocities committed by the Hamas terrorists.

I didn’t say all. I simply said we have politicians who aren’t clear about the tragedy.

I actually agree. At least two members of the House, both of whom are Democrats equivocated instead of absolutely condemning barbarity of Hamas.

"They train their kids to hate Jews from a very young age. Evil is the norm there. This is not a small radical violent minority, it is the norm."

Doesn't matter if you are confident that Israel will do their best to mitigate it. I'm not arguing they won't. But you've painted normal Palestinians as all being violent. But this only provides an ostensible basis for their deaths being as morally justifiable. FWIW, it also happens to be a form of moral relativism.
