Miami's mind-numbing loss to Georgia Tech defies explanation. Now what? "Miami had an audience full of recruits in attendance Saturday, including the best high school receiver in the country, Jeremiah Smith, a hometown product from a family of Canes fans who has been committed to Ohio State since December. Smith told The Athletic in March he wanted to see what Miami would do in Cristobal’s second season"
Maybe but probably not. The same day it came out he was going there for the game he said it was just a “free game” he was attending as part of enjoying the process. Then on the same day he called it a business trip and a video came out saying he could see himself playing or playing with them and threw up the U. Ultimately who knows but there has been smoke around him and Miami for awhile. Maybe he flips but maybe he doesn’t who knows.
Locked to clean-up. IMPORTANT: I give more leeway here at times . . . but we remember nobody bashes Florida in an open forum that all recruits and their families and friends (and opposing coaches) can read, or read to them. I see some posting here that have a very short leash elsewhere and that will be applied here too. Don't let 1 or 2 ruin it for the rest of us. Unlocked (for now) . . .
I’m trying to be realistic when I give my top 5 most realistic remaining targets I would love for UF to get: 1. Jordan Seaton - OL: i’ll be honest, i haven’t seen a lick of film on him but shoot, he’s a 5* at a position lacking high end talent. 2. LJ McCray - DL: Between UF and UGA with FSU in the picture and I feel Miami on the outside looking in. SEC is a trenches league and adding him to the true freshmen haul we have on campus now that gets playing time already (and to think that Gavin Hill is still redshirting this season) and the 2024 commits would be massive. He’s EXPLODED this season 3a. Zay “Bam” Mincey - CB: can play safety too but being recruited at CB. Him and McCray been to UF that I confident we land both but Miami is right there in it for Mincey as well. Would add great height to the CB position along with Foster and Mack on board. 3b. Jameer Grimsley - CB: same with Mincey; would add incredible size to the corner position. I think the word was he was wanting to be a corner and UF either slow played him or was initially recruiting him at safety but now with getting him at corner. Gonna have to continue to work em to flip him from Bama….which is possibly. 5. Michai Boireau - DT: former commit who a lot feels he decommitted because he thought UGA would give em the greenlight. Visited UGA after decommitting but didn’t commit to UGA. Need to add beef to the interior DL with only Nasir Johnson being the only true DT in the class. yes I know I omitted Jeremiah Smith but unless Hartline leaves, i’m not entertaining the notion we can flip him. We do have the best 2024 QB coming in out of the places he’s visited (well Raiola rated higher but use your eyes lol)
