Stay on topic for a second will you. My goodness. Will you cede the point that they hide arms and explosives caches in areas like kindergarten playgrounds?

I will concede that the US government and Israeli government believe that and like to talk about it. But sure, if you like. That's what resistance groups do and it wouldn't surprise me, do you think the Warsaw Ghetto fighters hid arms in places that the Germans thought were acceptable? If you were resisting a communist invasion where would you hide your arms caches? Where exactly should they store their arms for self-defense? What is the morally correct location?

 

The problem with this is that the Hamas people are taught since birth that Jews are dogs that eat their children. They believe the nonsense, and with that, they have no problem engaging in the savagery.

 

Some people believe this nonsense too. "The Hamas people?"

 

Not underneath a damned school or hospital.

They do this repeatedly by design so the Israelis feel queasy about bombing those locations. That is using human shields.

 

“Proportional response” is the war term.

 

Maybe that just speaks to the fact that Israelis are perfectly cool bombing a city block that may or may not contain an arms cache/secret HQs or whatever they say is there

 

I totally disagree with this very premise. Turning the other cheek, because it looks to bears no evil, is evil itself as it will invite more death and destruction to the people of Israel. The evil into Israel MUST be answered by force by Israel. Or it will be more deadly tomorrow. This is the essence of self defense.

Your entire koombaya-for-peace fantasy does not answer a terrorist attack. It enables it.

So a guy giving a speech in 2011 is the spokesman for everyone in Hamas? C'mon. Also can we not separate rhetoric from what peoples actual political motivations might be? Do you think everyone in Hamas given the choice between "kill all Jews but rule over ashes or have your own safe state and Israel exists" they would all choose to rule over a wasteland?

On one end, that says something to me about what Israel's neighbors think of Palestine. On the other, I don't think it's fair to paint Palestinians with that broad brush.

But I sure as Hell don't want the US potentially inviting this kind of evil into our home.

 

I don’t think anyone disagrees. The hyperbolic posts about civilians be damned has been the contention. No one thinks that Israel should go all Jesus Christ and turn the other cheek.
