Charleston, Mount Pleasant, Isle of Palms are all really nice places to go. Charleston is very Old South. Downtown Charleston is like stepping back in time.
Great chopped Bar-B-Q sandwich topped with creamy Coleslaw and a vinegar, spice and pepper based sauce that's mopped on. More important, the best job I ever had was in Greenville for 10 years, even though the folks there are kinda weird.
I live here in charleston, SC been here since '03 when I left kissimmee/st. Cloud at 20 years old and My area for work is from south of Georgetown all the way down to bluffton, beaufort, Hilton head area, entire lowcountry coast. So I get to see some pretty nice areas along the coast , very Beautiful coastline and a bunch of island jumping once you get to the beaufort, Port royal, Hilton Head, Seabrook island, etc makes for a lot of great views while going over the connecting bridges.
still to some degree, but they've been undergoing a shit ton of construction on high rise (for charleston strick height requirements )luxury condos and hotels, and college off campus housing. Some of the older buildings have been bought by developers and replaced. Downtown is a bar hopping scene with several bars all offering live music, its a college town. But losing a little more and more of its old timey feel each year.
