The coaches should hammer hone the point to stay off social media sports pages. First off trolls can troll unfettered and under the guise of a Gator fan. Secondly, the overwhelming majority of fans , alumni and supporters don't frequent social media pages to bash players. There is a contingent of people who enjoy the attention the forums give them and they double down on negative caricature takes the more attention they get. Again, our fan base is no different from others.......I mean Miami is generally trash and fsu has little brother syndrome but even the Ohio states, bamas and georgias of the world aren't much different from us. If he hasn't seen a fan base on social media do that he hasn't looked.
What I saw defensively during the Vandy game was very encouraging. Guys were playing their gaps even when there were blockers and taking out the blocker allowing their teammates to make the play. How many times have we seen guys try to make a hero play and run around the blocker and what would be a loss or minimal gain turn into a big bust?
You wrote exactly what I was gonna say. Especially about rival fans wanting to propagate negative comments. Sure...Gator fans are tough to deal with. We expect the, "Gator Standard" to always be there. But we have rival posters who love to do nothing but to stir the waters. They KNOW we are getting back on top and will do whatever they can to cause division and negativity!
I wish they were rival fans. Unfortunately, there are some very negative fans in every fanbase. Some people are miserable. What can you say lol.
For sure but there are a handful of losers who create a perception they are the masses. An overwhelming majority of fans support the players and realize football is a game not life. Players need a lesson in perspective if they think a fanbase is unique.

Aint it the truth. I also am starting very strongly suspect 4/5 toxic comments from Gator fans are actually FSU or Georgia trolls that have such a pathetic life, they create Gator fan accounts just to post toxic stuff all day.
I agree with not putting too much stock in haters but I also might push back that NFL players are lions and everyone else are sheep. There's room for nuance between those two.
Those are two fanbases that would definitely do that. I'm sure there are Gator fans on Georgia and fsu social media bit I wouldn't know because I've never cared to go there even when we owned them. Yet on florida gator pages you will always find these losers chiming in over and over again. Really pathetic stuff by "adults."
Ant, I generally agree with you on just about everything but have to disagree. Our fan base is just on a different level when things go sideways. Even for just a half. So much irrational stupidity starts flying. And it’s just not trolls & the crazies, even some parts of the sensible fan base go off the reservation and get lost in the nonsense.
No offense taken but yes we will have to agree to disagree on this one. Alabama ,Georgia lsu, Ohio state, etc have not had to deal with the poop show that Florida has been for the better part of the social media age. Bama made as much noise if not more before Facebook and Twitter even existed. Hell Ohio state fans are bitching about Ryan day. The same Ohio state that ran off John Cooper after 2 sub standard years... Imagine if florida ran a guy off with that record today....we know how loud the finebaums would best that drum
