American capitalism certainly used and profited from slave labor, I mean all capitalist labor is coerced and alienated from the individual in some way (The Republicans of the day were fond of using "wage slavery" back when Republicans were cool), but chattel slavery meant people were literal property, so in effect the American Civil War was over property rights.
No, because capitalism relies on the voluntary exchange of goods and services. Slavery isn't voluntary, by definition. A person who chooses to work for a wage from somebody who chooses to give them that wage, is capitalism. In order to turn it into exploitation, you need to take a more communist-style argument about how wage labor is exploitive.
Of course. Capitalism loves underpaid labor, including slave labor. Why do you think so many of your products are made in China or other 3rd world countries? It isn’t because of skills. It’s because those countries allow the use of sweatshops or even slavery-like work conditions where the workers can’t even leave. Hell, even domestically in the U.S. where we have decent labor conditions, we are now sliding back child labor laws (mostly in red states). Of course that’s because some would rather put children in danger than let brown immigrants work those jobs. Something about tainting our nations blood or something (totally not racist!).
This has been an evolution for me. I'm pretty much now to the point where I try to buy made in USA first, made in Europe next, made in Mexico, then made in Vietnam, Bangladesh, India, China, etc. if I must. The re-order has happened because of the reasons you have mentioned.
Early on, there were more indentured servants in the Americas than slaves. They help build the US, as did slaves. Both groups deserve credit, and crediting one and not the other was my mistake. As for needing immigrants, I don't care what skin color they have. They could be brown, black, white, purple, green, orange, or anything in between. We just need the immigrant labor. And it happens that our neighboring countries to the south are struggling to the point where many of their residents, mostly Hispanic, are willing to come here to do the work. I simply say let supply legally meet demand of labor. Who cares what race they are.

People know that liberals are not strong. The administration is not going to push back and will not enforce its laws. Central Americans have cell phones. The ones who have made the trip are calling everyone to come to the border because the libbies will not punish the crime of entering the US.

Did people have cell phones in the 1980s and 90s were high? Also, as the article with this graph explains, a big reason why we are seeing record encounters are repeat offenders. Title 42 allowed for rapid expulsions, sending people back into Mexico to wait their turn. They got tired of waiting, and crossed anyway.
they haven't called for border closing, they have called for more support to handle the influx. If only we could redirect those useless wall funds to immigration courts, temp housing, work permits
