I like what I saw Saturday and hope we bring the enthusiasm/execution to Columbia. But I noticed that our next 3 opponents have a bye week before they play us. Now we also have a bye week before the dawgs and we'll definitely need it. I'm more concerned about SC and Ark. This week we're going on the road against a team with a weeks rest and the chance to dissect our schemes. We play a well rested and prepared Arky team after we play in Jacksonville. Two games we need to be bowl eligible and the schedule sets up tough for us. If we can win those two games it will say more to me than just two more W's. What say you?
I agree. We'll have our work cut out for us to win both. I think if we win both games and lose to UGA, LSU and FSU, most fans will consider this season a step in the right direction.
I say bye weeks are great if your team is wore out and you got a bunch of nagging injuries. USCe A bye doesn't solve terrible defense or lack of a run game which is where Carolina seems deficient. Our biggest problem is likely to be us until we develop some proper leadership amongst the players. That's the biggest problem with this team playing on the road this season imo. Arky What level of preparation will lead the currently 110th ranked offense to be able to move the ball against the 16th ranked defense? We are a much better team at home so far and Arkansas is coming into the game with likely 5 losses out of their last 6 games. I like our chances. The only game where I feel like we don't have much of a chance is the cocktail party. Every other game we have at least a puncher's chance to win, bye week or not.
I don't ever expect anything helpful to Florida out of the SEC Offices and am rarely disappointed. LOL!
We are as likely to beat SC, Arky, and Mizzou as we are to lose all 3. Wide open race. Lets hope Billy has them ready to play. Go Gators!!!
Yep...we're the only SEC team to have 3 opponents with a bye before they play us. Sometimes that can work against the opponent too though.
I'm beginning to have PTSD on the bowl games. How many of our impact players would opt out? Just sayin.
I think Missouri might be the most important game left. If we can win on the road, in cold weather, it sets us up well for FSU. Winning in Columbia would at least get the road monkey off our backs. Beating LSU in Baton Rouge is going to be hard but becomes much more possible if the team knows that they can win on the road. I always think we can beat FSU at home. Georgia will require an A+ game from us, a sub par game on their part, and some luck.
I diagreed as we are probably more likely to win all 3 than lose all 3. Might be close to even, but on the positive side of even, 60-40 or 55-45.
USC with a bye-week will add special teams plays that will make our "game-changer" look silly. My biggest concern is special teams in this game.
