@jewood592 started a great Pub thread remembering posters from our past who no longer post on Gator Country for one reason or another. Verti's name came up and no one had current information on her, so I went looking and almost immediately found her obituary. A fiery tempered redhead, she was a treasured member of GatorCountry for several years and many of us enjoyed her posts and her contributions to Gator Country. jewood's thread https://www.gatorcountry.com/swampgas/threads/remember-them.589419/ https://www.lambfuneralhome.com/obituary/Cheryl-Sadler Obituary Cheryl Ann Sadler, 67, Country Club Lane, Hopkinsville, KY passed away on Sunday, July 16, 2023 at Tri-Star Skyline Medical Center, Nashville, TN of natural causes. A native of Santa Barber, CA, she was born on September, 23, 1955 the daughter of the late Jerome “Jerry” Lowenthal and the late Mary Mohs. Cheryl was a medical records coder at Baptist Health Hospital. She was a member of Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Church. Survivors include her husband of 33 years, Alan Sadler, Hopkinsville, KY; her sons, Bryan (April Huycke) Sadler, Clarksville, TN, Steven Sadler, San Diego, CA; her brothers, Glen Lowenthal, Hopkinsville, KY, Lee Lowenthal, Fort Lauderdale, FL; her grandchildren, Lucus Alan Sadler, Emma Rose Sadler; and her step-grandchildren, Taylon Huycke and Tristen Huycke. _____________________________ We met only one time when she came through Gainesville on her way home to Kentucky after visiting her mother in Cocoa Beach, I think. Driving her beloved Mustang she stopped by my home, picked me up, and we went to Steak'n Shake for dinner. Had a great time. Cheryl was a Pub moderator for a few years and a frequent contributor on Too Hot threads where she always gave what she got. RIP, Cheryl.
Damn. Really saddened to see this. Had many good interactions with verti, including after she left GC. She liked to mix things up on too hot. She was prolific on twitter as well and we kept in touch that way for a little while, but I left twitter several years ago.
Damn, saddened to read this. I remember seeing a picture or two of her years ago and for some reason thats how I always thought of her in that moment in time. She’ll always be in her mid-forties in my mind. Seemed like a fun and good person that cared a lot, probably too much.
RIP. Does anyone know why she was interested in a Gator site? I can’t deduce anything from her obituary.
I think Trump getting elected was too much for her, her postings got pretty nasty then. Naturally we didn't agree on politics but I loved her feistiness, we had some pretty good exchanges
I had some feisty exchanges with her as well but always admired her passion. My she RIP and condolences to her family.
Sorry to hear this and thanks for notifying us @lacuna. Verti was one of a kind. Speaking of our fallen friends, has anyone been able to view the brick we purchased in the name of gatorknights? It would be really nice if someone who attends a game could snap a photo and share it.
She and I never saw eye to eye on politics but for some reason we had very respectful exchanges and some really kind PMs. And in GatorTail Pub and Grill we have a thread going on where are past posters and she was mentioned by name. So I went back 9 pagers on my PMs and found her messages to me and I was happy to ruminate with what she wrote to me. She was a very kind soul and never personally insulted me when we disagreed. I never once disrespected her and she never disrespect me.. She was a person that I always considered a friend... I will get with Tilly to see if any of our PMs can or should be posted... Not sure that I would want them to be read by anyone else, but these PMs were not exclusively private in nature, just private in that we had an unhindered way to communicate without others getting involved. For now they stay private... I think that's the most respectful thing I can do for her. R.I.P sweet Virtigo0923... Cheryl.
Thanks! @mutz87 might have some specific info on the location of the brick, as I think there might be several campus locations.
