I stated when I first heard about the attack, the 6b agreement didn’t age well given how widespread and well coordinated it was and that is was well beyond the capabilities of just Hamas. I think my exact words were ‘Hamas doesn’t take a dump without getting authorization from Iran and I also stated Hamas doesn’t breath without an ok from Iran. So I agree no funds of the 6b were used but there is zero doubt the Iranians knew about the attack as this prob took 6 months to plan. Iran knew this was coming while they negotiated the 6b. Like you said Iran doesn’t need the money which makes the planning of the timing of getting 6b from Satan while you plan and attack its staunchest ally simultaneously. Quite the win for Iran

Good thing we have a template for dealing with this sort of thing. How far down Iran’s list of demands should we go to get them back, you know, since it was so effective last time? Another $6B? Permanently cut off foreign aid to Israel? Give Iran nuclear weapons of its own? Maybe bomb Israel ourselves until it complies with Iranian demands?

For the dwindling holdouts who still can’t see Iran for what it is, I want to know precisely how far you are willing to go in terms of tribute.

The recent byline has been that Israel is close to tearing itself apart, with talk of possible civil war. With this attack Netanyahu’s enemies are forced into a coalition with him.

 

Maybe? We didn’t seize it last time, we had a willing ally in South Korea hold it. What are the chances Qatar will do what the South Koreans did (and note that SK was looking to release it)? I don’t know but considering it was seized last time under threats of US sanctions and being frozen out of international banking it may work again on the Qatari National Bank. The problem will be the conditions we put on the money - I wonder if we had a “no supporting terrorism” clause (I’m doubtful) in which case Iran wouldn’t have breached their agreement (yet). I think it should be on the table though.

 

Since it’s a proxy army (and Hezbollah too) we’re basically unbound to conduct direct operations against them.

 

It’s disgusting. I’m not sure I can wish enough bad things to come down on them.

 

You’re thinking of ill-gotten gains which are frequently seized - that’s not what these funds are. This was money owed for legal oil sales.

 

It sure is suspicious. It’s frightening that one of the world’s greatest intelligence agency that has infiltrated every anti-Israel organization somehow missed the entire large-scale attack. Sure, intelligence misses happen, but it sure as hell is suspicious to me that it happened. And if we are all being honest, Netanyahu and Hamas both need each other.

 

It’s really hard not to have any level of suspicion given who Netanyahu is.

Israel’s vaunted Iron Dome was advertised as 85-95% effective. But it was never designed to defend against the thousands of missiles, rockets and drones Hamas has unleashed.

Of course, we are. But what about Jake Sullivan’s glorious advice over the past three years makes you think we would take any direct action against Hamas? The bare minimum we should do is to publicly support Israel that they can force Gaza into a compete surrender this time, and we won’t have any issues.

 

For starters, give Hamas 24 hours to hand over any Americans, living or dead, or we will directly support Israel in isolating Gaza, forcing its complete and unconditional surrender (no face-saving armistice for Hamas this time), and compel Egypt to annex the Gaza Strip for conflict resolution. The Arabs will have the choice between direct Egyptian rule or direct Israeli rule. The fantasy of Gaza self-government is ended forever.
