I don't think Napier has enough confidence in the Oline to really try to go deep the way we'd like them to.

If we keep Lagway I doubt any of our top receivers sneak away to the portal…he says hopefully.

Well I can contact Stewart Mandel now with a little bit of snark anyway.

Let's see if the kids get it done in Columbia next week, I think they have a solid chance.

I would like to point out to Gator Nation that the universe is readjusting to a more harmonious rotation, now that the state of Tennessee has once again, found its proper position, in the Gatorverse.

  10. A win is a win, and those will be harder to come by in the next few weeks. Relish this one. Complain, yes, but enjoy the taste of victory.

If I may opine, it isn't whether we win (against Vandy at home? well, DUH!) or lose (a Georgia Southern event for Napier), but rather how we look, as if we are pissed because of how we got plastered against a decent SEC team. My take?

Let's see what happens next week. This game was mostly about the ineptitude of Vandy instead of the "exorcism" of bad mojo.

Good dub. AB looked good out there, hope it isn't a one time thing and he disappears into the ether.

I respectfully disagree (without bacon -- LOL! :)). Changes were made. Different plays were called. Mistakes were cleaned-up. Execution was improved and the kids can build on what they did today against an SEC team coming back after a very tough loss in Lexington. We all know they're not yet a Top 10 team but IMO we should enjoy them growing and the improvements we see week-to-week. Folks might disagree with me too and that's fine.

Very solid overall performance; maybe best special teams of the season. Nice to have a relaxing game to watch with scoring in every quarter. On to USCe - let’s keep the Mo from today going!

Mertz overall is solid but he has a couple of issues which are drive killers. 1) he holds the ball too damn long sometimes. Get rid of it, don't wait to get sacked. 2) he doesn't step up in the pocket. He always heads to his right at a 45 degree angle away from the line of scrimmage, after which he gets sacked. It would be much better if he stepped up into the pocket and threw it, and if he takes a sack he only loses a few yards instead of 10+. 3) he is much more accurate on the short pass but struggles with accuracy on the deep ball.

Next year, a player like Lagway if he were to start, would open up opportunities exponentially. Our O would be much more dynamic (IMO).

I know where you are coming from, but I have a different spin on it. I think our defense and stout running game made Vandy look inept. The stop on 4th and goal, the rather long runs in the 4th quarter against a worn out Vandy defense was all part of the winning strategy.

This team is still young and learning. The oline shuffle shows they are still trying to get the best players n the field. It's still a work in progress, but I believe things are on track and getting better.
