Are you aware of any balances in Iran's “social programs budget”? Do tell. And again the funding and material and personnel were organized months ago before tophe agreement was in place. Do we even know Iran is involved in this attack?

 

Just so I’m clear on your position, is it “Iran couldn’t use that $6B to support Hamas even if it wanted to” or “Iran had nothing to do with this attack”?

It’s a different time. That was before we were cutting deals with Iran to allow them to enrich uranium. That was before the UN voted to recognize Palestine as a state. That was before there was talk of disallowing Bibi to speak to Congress in 2015. Sharon had a much more pliable partner in the United States when he did that. Bibi sees the writing on the wall and the last thing he can afford to do is lose US support. He’s already not welcome at the White House. Sure, he could go full on cowboy mode ala Sharon, but what happens when the UN condemns Israel and the US pulls its support for Israel? That would severely weaken Israel’s position in a region where they are surrounded by adversaries.

 

You know you are my bro, so don't take this personally... but I don't like when things happen and it's branded as an intelligence failure. Intelligence can't and won't stop every attack, especially f the enemy practices good operational security.

 

The bigger contrast is that is a large-scale terrorist attack. Israel is not in danger of falling almost no matter how bad this gets. The Yom Kippur War, however, was an existential threat to Israel. It’s also damn harder to hide the movement of multiple corps of personnel and equipment than it is to move rockets into position, mostly underground.

 

Again what money do they have allocated for social programs. Can you provide annual spending and current available funds? Also can you explain how this new found money (to be dolled out in drub and drabs)had any impact the planning that (if they were involved) that happen months and months ago.

 

It’s hard being right all the time but it’s a burden I willingly carry. Depressed to learn we have already prepositioned $2B in weapons in Israel. Better positioned in Ukraine.

These funds have absolutely nothing to do with the horrific attacks today, and this is not the time to spread disinformation.’ In fact, the US has pre-positioned $2 billion worth of weapons stored in Israel. That's why their position doesn't pass the giggle test. It's not like South Korea sent the $6B to Qatar, Qatar sent it to Iran, Iran sent it to the Hamas who then ran out to the 24/7 Bombs 'R Us store, loaded up the carts and then sat down to plan this thing. Even the most casual observer of what's going on in Ukraine realizes there are significant delays between funds being made available and that being translated into anything you can see on a battlefield. This Hamas operation was in the planning stages for months and not one won of South Korean money was involved.

10lb baby Jesus. Nobody is arguing the funds were used for THIS operation. We pointed out the absurdity of giving them the money at all. And amused by the ridiculous logic to say ‘ well this can’t be used for weapons’. As if they can’t reallocate their existing non military expenditures to military then use the new funds to refill the coffers of the non military expenditures. Which is exactly what both sides already know they are going to do and seem to be ok with it.
