No one cares what this nut job Putin/RNC plant thinks.

Even if Biden weren't running, no one without a tinfoil hat was voting for him.

They sure can. And they show their colors when they invalidate the people who came out to vote. I recall they almost gave the 2008 election to Hillary, but the people stopped the treachery.

When a dictator begins taking away the rights you care about, remember you were all for it until it hit home.

As has been repeated several times in this thread, parties have the sole discretion of determining how to choose their candidates. There is no adjudicating body above them to make rules or to make them play by certain rules. In the long view of our history, primaries are a relatively new thing. Lincoln was not nominated by a primary. This is not the same thing, then, as if we were just skipping a general election, where there are rules and there is a governing body. The party only needs to answer to its members, and if an overwhelming majority of them does not care — which is what it looks like to me — then there is probably no reason why you should care either.

Who gives a shit about private fascism? a huge benefit is that a party can maintain some ideology. Ex. pubs should've never let a radical commie like Trump in the party. Turns out, of course, pubs love 'em some radcom

I think he stacks the deck enough against himself with his inane positions. But, I’m with you here. Let’s have primaries.

Truth is, if RFK is the one running against Biden in a primary, Biden’s popularity will soar by comparison. Biden would get a boost in the general election. The Tucker- MAGA crowd pushing his popularity hasn’t thought this through.

While I'm against the concept of the parties picking their own candidates without primaries I think we ended up with better candidates when primaries were largely advisory than we do now in which primaries determine a party's candidate. Under the old system Donald Trump would have never ended up with the Republican nomination.

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to Exit Democrat Primary, Run as Independent (breitbart.com)

Kennedy plans to announce his independent candidacy on October 9 in Pennsylvania, according to a text reviewed by Mediaite. Kennedy’s campaign also plans to launch “attack ads” against the Democrat National Committee (DNC) to “pave the way” for his announcement.

A Kennedy campaign insider told the outlet that Kennedy “feels that the DNC is changing the rules to exclude his candidacy, so an independent run is the only way to go.”

The insider’s comments align with remarks Kennedy made publicly earlier this month. Kennedy claimed the DNC is “trying to make sure that I can’t participate at all in the political process, and so I’m going to keep all my options open,” when a South Carolina voter questioned him about the possibility of a third-party run as an independent.

Trump's team is about to start attacking him because right wingers love RFK. RFK will hurt Trump more than he will hurt Biden. On top of that RFK will be speaking at CPAC later this month

I wouldn't be surprised if some lone nut assassinated RFK Jr. by jabbing him with a Covid 19 booster shot.

Disagree. While Trump would undoubtedly attack him if RFK, Jr. was running for the Republican presidential nomination as long as he is running against Biden for the Democratic nomination or if he is running as a third party candidate Trump would have no problem with him. While he aligns with the right on the vax and on aid to Ukraine on most other issues RFK, Jr. is a lefty.

RFK has said he would take more votes from Trump than Biden. Neither Republicans nor Democrats seem to agree with that analysis.
