Very cool. I can see them migrating this in the future for the sport. No more wrist bands.

Very cool. I think they made a documentary about that school some years ago.

How about Xray specs so Mertz can look thru the rushers that are in his face and see open receivers?

Unless every player has this, I don't know that it will dramatically change how infuriation gets to the quarterback. Offensive lineman are not jumping because they do not know the play,,,

Tennessee had issues communicating as they like to change/call the plays after lining up. If they could communicate without talking, that would be like playing Madden.

But I don’t see how one good hit wouldn’t render this tech useless.

what happens when that feed is hacked, and someone sends in different plays, or the opposing teams has access to the plays going in and uses that info to call defense or vice versa.

    Should be interesting.

In terms of G forces the average cell phone probably sees (and survives) worse when it hits a hard surface dropped from chest height. The distinction from on field collisions being the hard impact surface and the extreme deceleration that results.

But mostly they will be simple, relatively cheap and easily replaceable.

If a team really want to communicate that visually, they can use those sign boards. Some teams communicate their plays using those exclusively. Maybe the game will be affected

They all do now. It’s the protection checks at the line and getting the calls in on time that Tennessee had issues with in the Swamp.

As a bonus it might protect their eyes from Shedur Sanders.
