It was forever billed as "The World's Largest Student Organized Pep Rally". Never promoted as a family event, so what did they expect? People bitched about Robin Williams also, with comments about their 4 year olds having to listen to that kind of language. First off, it was never designed for little kids, and other than the fireworks there wasn't anything the kids got any enjoyment out of, and that's only because the fireworks woke them up. I went in the early 60s and the only thing I remember from those many times I was there were the fireworks.

Think it was 78, Doug Dickie, my most reviled coach in UF history, came out to resounding boos, he basicly said some snarky comment about a home winning streak, dropped the mike and walked off.

Note to all Gators, NEVER EVER hire former UT coaches, players from UGA and persons whom dislike UF.

Both of those were fun times. Halloween Ball got crazy at times.

When he came to UF he followed the best team we'd ever had and was about as welcome as Zook was when he first arrived. Not only weren't the fans happy, but the team wanted Gene Ellenson to be the Head Coach and wasn't happy with the hire either. He then proceeded to take the most prolific offense we'd ever had in 1969 with the Super Sophs and go a different direction on offense in 1970. He was the worst thing to happen to Florida football, until perhaps, Dan Mullen.

Makes you wonder what could have been had that offense not been subjected to a wrecking ball.

Yeah that too. A lot of talent was squandered in the Dickey years. That ever elusive first SEC title had to wait until '84.

Paula Poundstone got the "Hey Hey Hey . . . Goodbye!" treatment. It was an awful set.

Yeah, I think there was some admin resistance after a "glory hole" skit around the early 90s.

I was at that Bob Hope debacle. Robin Williams
Mr Happy routine was a hit, at least with part of the crowd.

Wayne Brady was last one for me. I thought his TV improv stuff was funny sometimes but that show in the swamp was not

When the students started getting on her, she lost her composure, the booing got louder, and she pretty much slunk offstage. As she left was when the "Hey Hey Hey . . . Goodbye!" started. Doubt she ever listed Growl on her resume. She pretty much disappeared in standup after that. Other than the radio show with Garrison Keillor, I don't remember hearing of much her again.
