You obviously haven’t seen the clips of Biden saying verbatim that he would never build another foot of that wall.
And that is why I’m a regular guy who takes people at their word and others are professional equivocators who never stop squirming so that they always make an argument.
This is a slam the door shut situation.
Biden was wrong and it’s really not that big of a deal to admit so.

 

I honestly don’t mean to be disrespectful.
You don’t need to type so much. Your mind is made up and we disagree.
I’ll never be the type to allow even one murderer into the country even if a thousand good people are stopped in order to stop that one asshole.

 

How do you know the immigrants that "you love" aren't killers? The background check that they give to every migrant asking for asylum on the border?

 

My standards are obviously higher than yours. Shocker.
At some point you give people a benefit of the doubt but not until they pass certain criteria.

 

The logical inconsistency here shows how much this is just about emotions like fear and how you view yourself. You are saying in one post how you want to keep people out because some might be killers and are now saying you love immigrants and that we need to give them the benefit of the doubt "at some point." And all that changes is the way the issue is framed.

We can never be 100% safe. Nothing we've done, to date, has slowed down undocumented immigration, let alone stop it. A wall won't solve anything. Having an expanded guest worker program with background checks will at least make us safer.

 

After they pass a certain amount of background checks.

What makes for a better leader?

1. Biden saying he would never build another foot of that wall and sticking to his guns forever, no matter what evidence was presented to him.
2. Biden saying that, but then changing his mind and authorize the construction of ~20 mile section of wall where reports deemed it would be appropriate and actually effective (what he's apparently done).

 

Hold a second…we talking about Biden or Napier now?

 

I get it and I agree. But a good leader should be wary of speaking in absolutes. Biden ran his mouth and looks like a dodo.

 

To date, Napier seems to be option 3: Saying all the right things while the outcomes look like doodoo.

 

Political rhetoric, especially debate statements, are not conducive to measured and careful answers. We practically require our candidates to be forceful and absolute as they carve out what separates them from the others. A politician that talks about what he probably will do, or how she may change her mind when new info presents itself would get hammered for flip-flopping or not having clear policy positions.

 

In his defense, he probably doesn’t remember his pledge.

Still not built. Have you followed the story? They had to spend the money or let it return to the Treasury - money appropriated for the last guy but never spent until now. Guess it wasn't a priority then, huh? Don't worry. In a couple days, your ego will sort out these discomforting facts and you can go back to thinking the last guy really cared and really tried and that nothing's being done now and you can thump the arm of your recliner in righteous anger when Hannity tells you to.
