“smaller schools cant afford it like bigger schools”. Well too bad!! It’s almost like punishing Florida cause they CAN afford to do it because Rutgers can’t afford to do it. Then that means, maybe Rutgers should be a D2 school in football

That’s because the courts system has their hands tied.

It's a private association. It's members can waive their rights and voluntarily submit to demand notices. It's just that the good-old-boys get to hide behind their lawyers who hide behind the "justice system" and its rules. "Nothing we can do . . ." Nonsense!

This reeks of ADs or schools pushing the NCAA to ban this then saying “oh sorry we can’t…NCAA won’t let us”…same concept as businesses lobbying politicians to pass things banning stuff they don’t like. So weird

Well not eliminated just limited to official visit only. Still stupid either way, let them kids take pics in the jersey, for some of them that moment may be the pinnacle of their playing career.

Yep, and trying to "even" the playing field is NOT a democratic approach to football. Some teams have more becasue they have a long history of playing football and all the financial investment they have put into their sports throughout the years makes them better...

Football is not owned (managed) by one entity that is allowed to "even" the playing field like they try to do in the NFL...

History matters... and so does all the time and effort expended by schools/administrators and their fans to make their sports programs great thought out the years... This IS NOT the NFL and that crappy excuse for football. There is NO "EQUALITY" in college football and we like it that way.

Johnny come lately schools need to build their product just like every school in the country has done, and that takes many decades and hundreds of millions of dollars to get there. Sorry... there are no shortcuts.

The 12 teams playoff system is a joke that lets these lesser teams get instant gratification for just being in a scrubs league. The top 12 teams should play in the playoffs regardless of conference affiliation. But, if we were to make the power 4 champs automatic qualifiers I can live with that, but I would not extend that freebie qualifier spot to the rest of the scrub leagues.

And in the world of the NCAA's ridiculousness... photo-shoots should not even be in the NCAA's purview of rules. It has nothing to do with the health or safety of a football recruit.

You are so far off base! The Supreme Court dropped the hammer on the NCAA.
Someone needs to go back and read NCAA vs Alston rulings. The court told the NCAA if we see you here again the ruling would not be favorable. Hence the NCAA hands are tied. Doesn’t matter private or not.

Private absolutely matters. These are students and amateurs we are talking about. College football has the ability to make the players employees which would change everything..
Obviously they like it how it is with boosters funding the payroll and pretending it’s something it’s not.. Making players employees would enable enforcement of a rule structure but the big boys don’t want a rule structure.

Doesn’t matter .. go back and look at the ruling again it only gets worse for the ncaa if they even rock the boat. Supreme Court basically said don’t come back in here again or else

Just can’t limit their ability to make money( cap) employees can have rules and structure. The law is for all businesses, not sports. Believe me if, they make them employees and get contracts, it would be much different but it’s harder to cheat a system like all other sports have.

And then you have player unions like the nfl and nba.. NCAA would then be on the hook for much more than just employing athletes. Now you are talking about health care retirement insurance … its a lot deeper then hey let’s make them employees .. and then there’s more court. NCAA says nope that’s just not the route I want to go. Why would they ?

As students the schools cannot limit their money as long as it's not from the school directly, and NO they cannot be employed by the school and still play armature (college) football.
