I’m so ready for Lagway but Mertz is holding down tge fort nicely. We need some premier oline guys. Hopefully the guys we have make some strides this year.
Lagway needs players to throw to as well. Need to attract top rated WR and TEs. When Ricky departs, I only see Wilson on roster as a star receiver. Need more from these two roles.
When you looks at the current landscape, you could say with greater certainty that Coleman and Bell from the transfer portal would have helped Gators this year more than any HS recruit. Our offense could have used both of them, as FSU did this year. Perhaps only 1 year rentals and we will have Jean and Wilson for 3 years. Helps ease the transition pain
I’d rather have a couple road graders in front of Etienne. It all starts up front or it doesn’t start at all.
I agree. Pay that kid. Our OL over-achieved last year but this year it's a weakness. Three of our starting OL are not SEC championship caliber players. PT is available! **I'm not sure Mazzccua is 100%. He gets whipped more in one game than O'Cyrus Torrence got whipped in three years.
yep!! We’re trying to warn folks that the OL recruiting is still bad and we need a guy like Seaton BADLY if we wanna flip the room
Considering Napiers offense and philosophy I would think it's almost more important to sign the top shelf offensive line targets than any other position outside of QB. When was the last time UF signed a top 100 OL prospect?
Richard Gouriage in Mullen’s first class was the last time. The next highest rated OL we signed since this was last year with Rod Kearney and he was just inside the top 150. That’s inexcusable
I’ve always been on the give Napier a few years to get this mess fixed, but OL has been my biggest disappointment. With the huge improvement in getting top guys to visit to a vastly improved recruiting class … where is that movement on OL? I thought having 2 OL coaches was creative and gave us an advantages, but that has to be analyzed moving forward if we are getting the bang for the buck in both recruiting and on-field performance. Otherwise it’s a costly gimmick.
I’m not against having two coaches but if you don’t have the horses, there’s nothing all the coaches in the world can do. I’m sure the price tag is outrageous and would shock most fans but you can’t beat good teams with an inferior line. It’s like every national championship in a row, not rocket science.
you’ve ALWAYS said that. Even with Hev as our OL coach under Mullen. I remember you always, even before NIL was a thing, saying pay these players since nothing else is happening to other schools where we KNOW kids are getting paid to attend
