I’d spend money we don’t have to protect our citizens, even our most insufferable….

Haha, so now you are in favor of black holes of money as long as it makes you feel like you are keeping out migrants?

The Trump wall is already failing. This is what it looked like in 2021 after a serious monsoon storm. So let's build more of this wall that cost billions to build, and billions to repair, and stops nobody? Genius!

And if you really think a wall works, here's some people who think Trump's wall is an absolute joke.

There's good reason the Gang of 8 didn't propose a 2000 mile wall. It's because it's wasteful and ineffective. Immigration reform with an expanded guest worker program is the most logical option.

Agreed. That is why I worded it as a feeling. It doesn't actually keep out migrants. But it helps him feel like they are doing that. The notion that somebody who just went on a month-long hike without shelter across Central America and the entire length of Mexico is going to be deterred by a wall is so laughably absurd from a cognitive standpoint. So it is mostly about feelings.

Dude the govt takes money and spend it no matter what I think. I might as well have an opinion on how they spend it.
What a dumb point you make.

Yeah, much better to go through life thinking everybody is a threat and name calling. Good luck with that.

You don’t give a shit how many get hurt as long as you keep the border open and help out the future libbies.
    Sad as hell.

Try and keep up…that’s not what I meant.
Go back to those Econ textbooks and see if you can work it out.

Okay, so even you don't know. You just want a wall for the sake of your feelings.

Here’s the difference between you and me.
You’d let 100 migrants in even though out of that group one is a murderer.
Sorry we don’t see things the same way.
I actually care about the betterment and safety of all people not just the people who will eventually vote for my libbie agenda in a few years.

We've been building fences since the 1980s and walls since the 1990s. On a scale of 1 to 10, how effective have these policies been at stopping or even slowing down undocumented immigration? So why is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results going to work this time? It's not. All it accomplishes is billions of dollars down the toilet.

Want something that might actually work and keep us safer? Allow all immigrants coming here for amnesty to stay on a guest worker visa provided they stop at the border and pass a background check. Anyone with a felony background isn't let in. Anyone who isn't gainfully employed and paying the visa payments after 3 months with no qualified excuse (medical issues for example) is also kicked out.

A wall for all 2000 miles is completely ineffective. It hasn't worked the past 30 years, and won't help the next 30. No matter much safer it make make you feel. It's a false sense of security that cost billions. I'd rather have something that would likely work to make us safer, and not cost us money.
