Once again, the data shows the attacks dropped. Simple as that. Tough one Skippy.

Not sure about the other guy (Keys, who's still a minor), but at least a couple articles suggest that Ayala is American.

And yet, yet your own link is arguing that occured due to other reasons, not because of a wall. Your link, it should be repeated. The one you chose to provide. Simple as that. Nice own goal though!

I posted my initial thoughts above about what I think should happen, and I'm certainly open to additional suggestions. Part of the difficulty with discussing these issues so broadly is that I think legal immigration, illegal immigration, worker programs, and the influx of refugees/migrants are often conflated despite being different issues with unique challenges and trade offs. For example, those seeking asylum because they're fleeing oppressive governments in Cuba or Venezuela are not breaking the law if they're showing up to be processed. I think we have a right to know who is in our country and don't support an open border. It's also true that we are a nation of immigrants and we need more workers and more young people coming to America.

Agree with a lot of what you said. My issue is we don't know who is in our country and we simply can't take every person in the world fleeing oppression. If we can somehow secure our border, then we can work to help workers come here legally, and also enforce our laws regarding people coming into the country illegally.

In most places, only citizens are allowed to vote. There are some local municipalities that have allowed legalized immigrants to vote, but only in local elections. States would have to pass laws to allow legal immigrants to vote in statewide elections. Don't see that happening soon.

And we've seen numbers like this before. Just over 20 years ago. Also, if you amortize by year, we're back to a more normal number. Undocumented immigration dropped significantly due to Title 42 and the pandemic. A good number of immigrants entering now would have likely entered between 2020 and 2022.

Because the status quo is to build walls. And, a year after this is created, you will be here to declare the whole thing useless, as the border will still not be "secure" and then we do it again. And again. And again. With the exact same results. CBP has to spend all that money that we give them doing something. And you will continue to back the status quo of them spending it on walls that you will then declare didn't secure the border, but that we should keep doing it.

Yes, build a wall. With cameras. But every time we do exactly that (and, as you pointed out, we often do that), you say that it doesn't secure the border. So then we build another. And then you say it doesn't secure the border. How much wall is needed until you say "Okay, the border is secure now."

The funding for the barrier (most of it is more like a fence than a wall) is targeted for a very small section of the border where there are lot of illegal crossings. Biden's decision is in no way analogous to Trump's proposal to erect a wall along the entire 2000 mile border.

Haha, I mean, aren't you crowing about how we are doing it right now again? Do you think this is a new thing or something? We have been doing this for decades.
