I get it, I do and this really just my opinion. UF really needs stability above anything right now. We’ve been in kind of a vicious cycle. I also think Texas and OU coming to the SEC is bad for UF. I don’t think UF really has from a support system (all in from every facet) what it’s gonna take to keep up with a 4 headed monster. Hell 5 if you count LSU. But that just my thoughts. I know many won’t agree.
Totally get your opinion and respect where you come from. I just think you shouldn’t be one of the highest paid coaches in the league and just produce low end results. We could get someone like Zook for less money that can win 8 and recruit. I really really hope Billy has a wake up call and assumes full ceo role and gets an OC because it’s apparent he has too much on his plate.
No doubt UF isn’t getting their moneys worth yet. It’s not my money though. It really comes down to the administration and what the big players want. I can’t pretend to know how they feel at this moment.
Hopefully the Steelers get rid of Matt Canada so be careful about what you want. By the way, unless you like the taste of crow you may want to temper your comments about KY until next Sunday.
That's what I don't get, he gets paid either way, why not go all out and try to set the world on fire instead of this ultra conservative nonsense.
When Napier was announced as the Gators’ new coach almost two years ago I tuned in to watch the Ragin Cajuns play and see what he was all about and it didn’t take me very long to come up with an opinion. I saw a boring, uninspired, unimaginative squad coached by a boring, uninspired and unimaginative coach. Afterward I took to social media with my opinion, only to be assured by an old friend who lived in Louisiana that I was going to eventually like this hire. Fast forward almost two years later and my opinion hasn’t changed, sorry Steve. I get that the coaching carousel is a disaster for this program but my opinion (worth what you paid for it) is that Billy Napier was a bad hire in the first place and is NOT the person who is going to turn Florida football around. He is in over his head in the SEC. I expected this year to be an embarrassment based off last year and expect the same next year as well. Next year the schedule is tougher and we will either be suffering through more Sunbelt Billy Ball (I think 50/50) or suffering through the first year of a new coach who is trying to assemble a team from the remnants of this team, along with whatever remains of the recruits and whatever he can scrounge from the portal. Either way we have to buckle up for a rough ride with plenty of embarrassing moments over the next two years.
We may end up like Penn st at best if we aren’t all in. Good thing the nfl has a draft and a cap. College football will be more like mlb, chanmpionships ate bought( they always have been) and smaller teams like Penn st willl catch lightning in a bottle once in a while and make their Cinderella run. I don’t think UF has decided yet which path they are on.
The future? I understand 2 scenerios: 1) Jesus calls us home (for belivers) 2) The sun supernovas and Earth is destroyed (for the science types) As far as UF, now that's a real mystery.
The next sign about the future (of UF football) is if/when CBN starts getting defensive in the press conferences.
Napier needs to install a culture of character and toughness. Watching the way we were manhandled and bullied physically was really upsetting. You have to want to play!
Personally I am getting sick of waiting and hoping things will get better. I hope you are wrong but can see it too.
I’ve been careful about expressing my exact feelings and will try to be in the future, I’m not on here screaming about firing people every week but since we are discussing the future and several other posters sort of led the way in stating they’d like to see a change I thought I’d vent this one time.
