I thought Billy took ownership without becoming unglued in his after game interview. Fine, but the rope is getting short. I like Billy and want him to succeed. I also don't think this team is playing with a full deck. Vegas had UF at 5 wins for a reason. What is unacceptable is UF looking like they partied all night before the game.
The change is write the checks it takes to get the best linemen. If you let the top teams take every single blue chip every year, this is exactly what you get.
Again, how is it that a team like UK who rarely gets 5 star OL, who has just one OL coach looks so much better?
Eleven years at the school and balanced recruiting and development. Of course, they play well against us and then other teams reintroduce them to reality
By today's standards, that buyout isn't all that lucrative. While I don't like it, the fact is that in today's world you aren't getting a good coach if you don't agree to a buyout. I don't know how coaches obtained such leverage, but they did. If Napier stays two more years, which I think he will, that buyout will decline unless Stricklin gives him another contract.
It still comes down to coaching and development, most schools other than a select few have lots of 5 star OL. Now with the transfer portal, should find decent OL but still they have to be coached up.
Along with 12 years to work the kinks out. They are a decent team now but they weren’t in year two. Their players have come through a system and know it well. Stoops had had his ass handed to him enough times to see it coming and relate that to his kids.
Well props to UK for being patient with Stoops and giving him 10+ years to install and perfect his system. Meanwhile in that same time span UF has had 4 different coaches. Being patient has its perks.
According to this: https://247sports.com/Season/2023-Football/CollegeTeamTalentComposite/, Florida has the 15th most talented team in the country. UK is 31. Utah is 33.
yes coaching, bad coaching, too bad some posters don't see it, just because a coach its wearing a Gator hat or a shirt with a Gator logo on the side lines makes him a good coach and have to agree with him or kiss his ass like some do.
It drives me insane to see people post about how long Stoops has been there as a justification for patience. What the hell has Stoops accomplished in that decade or so? How many national championships? How many conference championships? How many conference championship games, even? If that’s the argument for patience, I’ll take the opposite. The fact they’ve beaten us lately is a testament to just how bad we currently are, not evidence of why we should follow that sort of path to grateful mediocrity.
