Seems the AD who approved such a lucrative buyout should likewise be on the hook. If this goes south, a house cleaning imo is in order.
I said that last year and got trashed here. Unless there are big changes and games are more competitive soon the writing is on the wall… ow it’s Muschamp 2.0 without the defense.
As of right now Miami, UCF Kentucky, and LSU are classified as must win games. We are assuming a loss to LSU this year. Lose ANY of those games at home in front of Gator Nation and you are looking at some pretty pissed off BullGators, boosters, and donors breathing down your neck. No amount of coachspeak will cool his seat at that point.
Talent is not enough in the SEC. It might make us more competitive in road games which we haven’t been under Napier’s tenure, but we will lose close games if we have equal or even slightly better talent if we have non SEC caliber coaches. When you look at the transfer portal and the incoming freshman, we had the more talented team yesterday. It meant ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. Napier has only one option and that is to bring in coaches who have WINNING histories with other big programs. You can have all the assistants you want. I’d rather pay 5 coaches three times their salary then to have 15 coaches who are getting on the job training.
That's the thing that kills me ... He thinks that play worked! It didn't it was called back for holding! We did not get a first down, the play didn't work, and we punted the ball!
An analytical approach to coaching is needed, Napier obviously does that part well. His recruiting acumen is well-documented. Coaching is an extremely emotional game that require a coaches ability to prepare and motivate the troops for battle. That requires, in most instances, rocking the kids to the core. Sometimes you just need your coach to (metaphorically) bang back a double shot, chase it with a beer in one gulp, and smash the beer can against your forehead and scream uncontrollably as tears and blood roll down your face!!! "Let's do this!" Ahhhhh. And then have fun doing it! Knowing when to have a paradigm shift and ushering in change is the key to being a good leader. Remember Zook? Zook was actually pretty good, but his stubbornness has him currently selling insurance instead of coaching. Take no prisoners!~ Go Gators.
What Napier say isn't important, he say the same crap after every loss, is what the team shows on the field, its always the same thing on the field bad coaching on both sides of the ball and special team.
I don’t think his analysis is working because he is looking for confirmation bias. Look, if it wasn’t for this block, we were there. We heard the same thing with the former guy. Gotta play to the team you have, not the one you want. A lot of schemes look great with Tebow, Harvin, Trask, Pitts. But remove them and run the same thing…… Billy wants ball control running game first and foremost. We do not yet have the team to win those 1on1 let alone 7 on 5
