Yea...SC has a bye this week b4 our game. Lsu at night would be a nightmare....Missouri at night(maybe) in late November sounds like a COLD game.
Prior to Ray Graves, if ever. Losing seasons in ‘78 and ‘79 but both 1977 and 1980 were winning seasons. We cannot blame Billy for 2021 but two losing seasons to start one’s tenure doesn’t paint a bright future.
If this game was lost on the LOS (and it was) where is the return on investment of having two, not one, offensive line coaches? Struggling to find realized gains from all of the resources provided to CBN. Maybe time to pivot on the methodology, Coach.
this team was outcoached in every aspect of the game yesterday. he is a year and a half into his tenure. are you telling me there isn’t someone who is unemployed who could serve as a special teams coach? 2 1/2 games and I am seeing some troubling coaching mistakes He’s not going anywhere since his buyout is 32 million
You would have to fire someone to have a game day special teams coach on the sidelines. That isn't going to happen in season. And let's be honest, there are more pressing issues that need attention on this team during the week to take time away to work on special teams. The coaches only have 20 hrs a week to work on those problems and still install the weeks game plan
Anecdotally: last year, CBN had two linebacker coaches. And that unit was a liability all year. Hmmm....
We have some redundancy at certain positions, but doubt that changes unless the wheels come off. Most likely in the off season if Billy is honest with himself.
Given the timeframe he put together a giant staff, duds and attrition would certainly be expected until stabilized
Sure but that isn't the question I was responding to. That post asked if there was a coach that was unemployed that could coach ST.
With AA they basically have 2.5 LB coaches now. Yeah, I know they list Peterson as the Edge coach. Those are basically outside backers that rush though. This might be where room is made for a ST coach next year.
BN is on the verge of losing support from Gator Nation. Games like this provides little confidence that what he preaches is actually being practiced. It's not that we lose but how we are losing that infuriates most Gator fans. When errors are not corrected confidence is lost that he is the one to turn things around. Seemingly he will get a pass because he "has a plan" well on the field that "plan" looks bad. Seems we have a General Bradley (a players coach) when what is needed is a Patton. I don't say this lightly, I so want him to succeed, a great character guy but at least at this point we still look like a poorly coached team. I believe he will be given another year (provided we don't lose again to Vandy then all heck will break loose) but year 3 needs a huge upgrade as in the hiring of an OC who is innovative and can utilize the speed we have verse a clone of BN, and for heaven sake get a ST coach. Retaining 2 OL coach that has done very little is stupid. I also believe he needs to hold on to recruits, right now that's a saving grace for him.
That would be great we would go from awful on special teams to committing a bunch of false starts and not enough men on the line on special teams.
