Anyone that holds that position in our military should not be triggered by words by a former president. It's very concerning and I'm very glad he's gone. Can you imagine a war with China and he responding to Xi via Twitter? The guy needs to just go away and not be so passive aggressive, be the adult.

Someone needs to just go away but it's not Gen. Milley. The phrase is much more applicable to the defeated former president who threatened (albeit a meaningless threat) his former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff with execution because he became so butt hurt he's unable to accept criticism. Kind of hearkens back to a time when criticism of the King was a considered treason punishable by death.

I'm sure you admire this former Prime Minister of the UK since he avoided war.

And yet he opened his mouth and Trump wins. Anytime someone reacts to him he wins. If everyone including the media ignored him and didn't write a god damned story the guy would have no voice. Sometimes the best solution is to be quiet.

It’s worse than that. Any group that is apolitical, calls balls/strikes, or an outcome can’t be controlled by Dear Leader will invoke his attacks. Examples, the press. FoxNews literally admitted to lying in attempts to appease maga’s view of events and Fox had to pay almost $1B. Fox News also reduced actual reporting of news in favor of opinion shows. And it’s still not enough as Dear Leader rails against them. Another example, elections. After 2020 election in Jan 6 maga attacked and the Capital police had to stop them from killing our elected officials. Another is religion. Maga denying key Christian principles (link Below). Another, everyday local election officials. After 2020 many received death threats due to maga conspiracies. Another, any judge that rules against Dear Leader gets threats (link below). Another, stalwarts of the Repub Party. McCain & Romney were respected and elected to run for potus. Romney is still a conservative. But now he needs security to protect him from maga threats. And of course Dear Leader going after FBI, CIA, IRS, CDC. He even went after NOAA (link below).

Any entity required to call it straight will get attacked by Dear Leader and maga. Of course there are examples of this with other leaders in other countries throughout history. But won’t mention those….

Good try, but as usual you are way off the mark. The Biden administrations foolish idea to cut defense spending and then provoke a proxy war will bring the defense industry $Bs more than if they just hadn’t made the foolish cuts in the first place.

So as a taxpayer, a patriot, and the father of a fighting age son, I’m mad that they will not only waste more tax money than necessary, but will get no benefit for those extra $, and could put thousands more warfighters at risk.

Strange that a "patriot" need to echo propaganda that somehow the War in Ukraine is the US's fault because....we had good relations with Ukraine (it should be noted that they weren't in the process of joining NATO) and some other countries joined NATO, because they were worried about a militant Russia invading them...you know, like they did in Ukraine. The war is not "provoked." The Russians chose to invade a sovereign country for the horrible crime of not being in their country.

And you have provided no evidence of how announced future spending cuts (it was never actually cut) is supposed to result in us spending more. EVery defense contractor decided to ramp up production capabilities based on the notion that defense spending would go up in the future and immediately got rid of all of it when they were informed it wouldn't? Sounds like some of the worst run businesses in the world. And, given that they aren't, the argument is nonsense.

Your argument doesn't even have a modicum of evidence or even logic.

You’re right. You caught me. I don’t have 40 years in defense industry and don’t have many friends in DoD. None of that happened. I made it all up.

You never cease to amaze me at how far you are willing to burrow into the ground to avoid reality based on headlines, talking points, and liberal websites.

Some of us actually do work to make things happen and not happen. But don’t mind us, we don’t know what we’re doing.

    Hmmm...seems to fit:

Pretty sure he works for a defense contractor and is mad that they cut his government spending.

To be fair, you seem to be mad that they threatened to cut your government spending, not that they actually did. So that is one correction I would make on my initial statement.

The Treaty of Versailles backed Germany into a corner, and everyone was surprised when they came out swinging.
The rapid expansion of NATO backed Russia into a corner, and everyone was surprised when they came out swinging.
Germany pushes the Soviets all the way back to Stalingrad and are surprised when they come out swinging.
USSR puts nukes on Cuba and we damn near came to blows over it. It’s what nations (or people for that matter) facing an existential crisis do. They fight to survive.

Then people get pissy when you point out when nations were backed into said corner.
