unfortunately we don’t have a crystal ball to know what Billy’s record would be with four seasons yet. was just comparing the first 18 games is all. 9-9
If he has a fourth year like Mullen did, there’s no doubt what his future will be. Let’s hope he does much better than Mullen.
In the above video with Nick, one thing was stated that is a clear issue. We have no plan or ingenuity to beat a team that can out physical us. We got out muscled today, but we just kept trying to out muscle them rather than put some ingenuity in the game to out scheme the stronger team. Urban came here and used what he had, schemed up for the talent on the roster. Every one since, has tried to force their scheme on a roster not built for it. We’ve been here so many times. Rinse. Repeat. Why do we always seem to get Coaches that want to play the old man offense when we have a state full of speed playmakers?
Ding Ding. We get these old Gump retreads that might look good in HIS system, but sure as heck can't do anything without the other stuff Head Gump brings to the table. Not only do we lose, we're boring as heck. Save for a 1.5 year stretch (with Trask at the helm) we have yet to look like a fun offense Gator team. Otherwise, it has been 15 years of meh. I personally do not get why some coaches are so damn stubborn to make any changes? Any quality CEO knows, you are only as good as your talent. That doesn't just apply to the talent on the field, but also the talent that coaches them up, or in our case lack thereof. As others have mentioned, at the very least an OC and some consistency on the OL would help. Special Teams is an obvious failure but if BN can at least fix those other two, I think the heat on him will drop significantly. And not that this will help, but inundating Scott Stricklin's Secretary to the Secretary to the Secretary's email inbox with your concerns might get some traction, or at least make you feel better: administration@gators.ufl.edu .
My inside source says everyone was angry, there was throwing of luggage and the drink cart was smashed...although they might have been because they were out of peanuts.
No kidding. Let's see: Stricklin hired a shitty coach and paid him a lot of money so he would have job security. Did I get that right?
What did I state that wasn’t factual? Mullen was hired HC at MSU early 2009. Stricklin became MSU AD 2010. Napier is Stricklin’s first true hire. Bringing a familiar face from MSU to UF doesn’t count as undergoing a coaching search and zeroing in on a candidate. So far all facts. Napier is selling a vision. He doesn’t discuss the areas of concern, just says “trust the process.” Translation: don’t question me. We look no better in game 18 than in game 2. If “the process” truly is a “process” then we should be able to perceive it and notice its effects along the way. Those effects should correlate to improvement. We have not improved one iota. We looked as lost today as we did in game 2. I don’t believe the “process” makes you look like a$$ for 4 years only to come out smelling like a rose in year 5. And if it does then WTF kind of process is this?
Unless you are Kansas, Kentucky, Duke, or UNC, ADs over the past 2 decades are fired when the football program tanks. Most football programs tank with two consecutive failed football hires. Stricklin “hired” Mullen even though it’s not really a hire. Strike ONE. If Napier fails, that is strike two. Stricklin knows this. A contract with a huge buyout equals job security for Stricklin.
Just the whole intentionally fleecing the university as some sort of con. Not sure that’s FACTUAL but carry on, you are doing GREAT!
