Coach speak rinse and repeat. I picture Billy talking to the team in his monotoned emotionless demeanor and getting nothing in return. We laughed at Champ for his over the top screaming and board punching but at least he showed emotion. That it just wasn't about the process and analytics. I don't want to see BN getting hysterical, but show some joy or anger during the game. The players can feed off the coach when they need it
UGA veteran NFL men not freshman, plus they have several schemes... they are not married to one scheme per opponent. Meaning they switch it up throughout the game. They change things up often. But the NFL teams run it so college coaches think it's good... We needed a 5 man front against Kentucky's old school run game and we went with a scheme that did not fit... did not work.
I think he can succeed here if he realizes this . He needs to hire a great offensive mind and let go of the offense. Florida high schools produce speed , need to take advantage of that and have an offense that utilizes the talent . Of course in the sec you have to win up front . Even Saban has adapted to more of an explosive offense. Billy is living in the 80s or something.
Man all I heard was My process will work if we just do it right. That scares me (again) Realizing I am currently visiting a dark place…
On his hire I was unconcerned about his demeanor. I bought into the notion that we’d hired an ultra-competent nobody will out-work him steely-eyed assassin.
He sounds clueless. Good week of practice and still look like that. Hope the team can turn it around and get some breaks and win a home game or two.
Respectfully, I would amend that statement slightly. With the talent he has coming in there is a higher probability he will be a lot more effective. He doesn't need a talent advantage, but at least equal talent, and we will eventually have a talent advantage. The worst case scenario for today happened. Getting behind early and letting Kentucky dictate the game and pace. Vegas, the talking heads, everyone said we'd be crappy this year. We got a glimpse of greatness and got intoxicated by it. We're just not there yet. Talent is on the rise though. I'm hoping for seven wins this year. That would be like a natty. And, yeah, some better plays would be good. But we lost this game today because of everything but that. A fumblerooski wouldn't of won it. Statue of Liberty? Maybe Go Gators.
Let me correct your last sentence overwhelming talent advantage, something he will never be able to achieve "with this offense".
The defensive collapse was the hardest part of today. Was hoping at least that side of the ball was fixed. Hopefully, today was just a blip because we are going to need to lean on defense this season. The offense is what it is until the off-season.
