With all do respect, when you're getting dominated in every facet of the game you can't blame it on play-calling. To me that's an emotional response to a piss-poor performance and a butt kicking. Clean up tackling, coverages. 'Line play' on offense and defense, have receivers that can get open and offensive players that don't create false starts, then you have the 'luxury' to worry about play-calling.

At the end of the day...We have a young team that's showing glimpses of greatness and crumbling under pressure while getting schooled. Stoops had his guys ready. We were/are not ready!

Realistic goals still are within reach. We still can beat the 5.5 win-total vegas put out there.

Still rather be a Gator any day, than a Kentucky Wildcat.:p

    Go Gators:)

The “we are young” argument doesn’t fly anymore. Special team mistakes again and again. We have had at least 4 examples of too many or too few men on the field so far this year. No adjustment on defense to counter the run. Poor play calling on critical 4th downs (run with Montrell, Boardingham running one yard short on a pass play).
It’s on Billy, plain and simple.

Just finished watching the game. We are a slow molasses offense. It’s almost like there is no sense of urgency ever.

In the olden days, when you couldn’t ever beat your arch rival, you got canned. What happens when you can’t ever beat the teams you throttled every year?
Besides all that has been noted, the things that annoy me the most are:
    No intensity
    Horrific, Gawd awful tacking (Grantham-like)
Lack of discipline: two examples include 13 men on defense and personal foul on a 4th down punt that allowed UK to keep the ball.
    No adjustments during game/halftime.

Napier needs to hire an offensive coordinator and a special teams coach. He's spending so much money on his "army" of analysts and behind-the-scenes personnel, he needs to emulate the great D1 coaches and have a full staff on the sidelines.

Why should it take 4 years? We’re almost midway through year 2 and I have seen no improvement. I was blasted for saying this before but I think we have regressed.

I like Mertz but where are all the AR critics? Like I said, and many other, said, he covered up so many flaws in a very flawed office. At least he kept us close.

Do you have a source for this former player? I would find that very concerning.

Last year against UK AR went 14/35 (LOL) with 143 yards and 2 picks (including a pick 6). He ran 6 times for 4 yards.

This year against UK Mertz went 25/30 for 244 yards, 2 scores, and 1 pick (from a ball that literally hit the receiver in the hands). He "ran" 8 times for -2 yards.

The offense overall had 40 more yards and the same number of touchdowns.

Mertz isn't why we lost, Davis and that running attack getting 329 rushing yards compared to 70 last year is.

Honestly, do you ever give your posts any real thought?

With the way Billy is recruiting, I’d say give him 4 years. But I also want him to get a really good OC that calls the plays.

What can you really say about a game where you can’t get a stop with 13 players on defense… :(

Watch Auburn or Ole Miss for even a second. They field good teams. Look at Auburn today, beating Georgia in every aspect. They may lose but they were very very competitive.

More than anything else Napier’s lack of emotion is a major major problem. He’s McElwain 2.0 except he’s not getting to the SEC Championship.
    Saban
    Smart
    Meyer
    Spurrier
    Holtz

One thing in common, is they all had emotion. Kids relate and respond to the emotional and motivational side much more than the quiet and calm let’s go we are seeing.
I don’t get it. How can you be totally invested w no emotion.

I’ll tell you this, those on the inside are saying the same thing.

At this point he will have to beat Georgia or FSU.
