It would be exciting Smooty, to actually go into the UGA game with a chance to win the East which is what a 6 - 1 record would mean.

Yeah, with UGA's easy schedule we HAVE to beat them this year to win the East. I don't think there's any way to back-door our way in.

    I thought 6-6 so now I think 7-5. Ceiling is 9-3 IMO

Nope. Before the season I broke the schedule down: Wins, "in contention" and national title contenders. Of which I thought we might face 4: LSU, Tennessee, Georgia, FSU.
The definite wins were Mcneese and Charlotte.
Everything else was "in contention". Even Vandy.

So I thought we had 2 in the bag, 4 we would be mod-to-heavy dogs in. Everything else I thought we could do anything from 6-0 to 0-6.
Good season is anything that has us in a Florida Bowl of some kind. Citrus, Gator, Outback,
The only thing that has really changed its the outlook the 4 I mentioned I considered contenders for the National title. They all looked quite shaky themselves Saturday. And the gators have already taken out one of the four upon which a possible special season might rely. But the gators better not look past UK because I can guarantee they're gonna be building it it up like this is their super bowl again.

They always do for some reason. It's like they don't / can't get up for UGA and others like they don't dare dream that big. Maybe it was that 30+ year beat down that made them a little salty about us.

I thought 6-6 preseason, then after Utah 4-8. After this performance, I'm willing to add one more to the original prediction, 7-5

There appears to be quite a bit of upside with this group. The improvement since Utah was remarkable. OL went from anemic to dominating at times. They moved people out of the way and were more than adequate in pass protection. The turnaround in the defense is even more striking.

So, 7-5 is not the ceiling, I think another win is possible. Wouldn't bet on it, but within the realm of possibilities.

Well there were plenty of people and pundits who thought they had and is the witchawhy the spread moved a TD and a half. Not to mention, although unranked we currently have the 10th ranked defense in all of college football.

You put that together with the obviously per usual overrated Tenn and you have what we have here a team that we should have and did beat. Hope it continues. Coaching matters.

@ Kentucky is the pivotal game, imho. Win that one, and this season is headed above expectations.

Lol. Will all due respect you need only add two more games to that to actually give us our season. So yeah in 4 games from now we should have a pretty good idea how we’re going.

I said ratherly soberly when we lost to Utah, we played them too early for this team. We should have won that game and if we had played them a couple games in, I think we would have and so I still have no idea what’s in front of us. I can see a scenario where we lose only to UGA and even then ya never know. UGA ain’t old Bama. Not even close.

I don’t mind some AC/DC but analogue bag pipes? Ouch.

Agree with many of these posts.
7-5 + a bowl win would be nice.
That of course must be complemented with holding together if not improving the class.

Mediocre seasons are only acceptable with high level recruiting.

At least UF shouldn't have too many holdouts for whatever bowl they go to given the relative youth of the depth chart.

Not for me. We were really bad vs Utah. Looked good against Tenn. this team is capable of repeating both of those performances so neither the bad nor good performance shocked me (though the Utah debacle was more of a surprise to me than the performance vs Tenn).

team doesn’t have a ton of margin for error so could still lose games (especially road games) vs what I would call less talented teams (like UK and SC) and as a young team wild swings in performance should be expected.

    gonna be a bumpy ride.

Maybe but it seems you're expecting no improvement. Maybe not. I was expecting improvement each game last season but the makeup of that team was a mess. I'm thinking we could improve through this season.

Like a lot of others, I was thinking 6-7 wins, now maybe one more. Who knows, this is a very emotional game played by 18-24 year-olds. Anything, and I mean anything, can happen any given Saturday.

The road games are the key. How do they fair vs. KY, USCjr, LSU and Mizz. We can bitch about how it was, back in the old days, but in today’s world those aren’t easy outs. Then you have FSU & Ark at home. Which is a challenge. But if we go 2-2 on the road, that’s a damn good start with the rebuild.

This team is just too young & inexperienced (though, really talented) to not expect a few brain farts down the stretch. Hopefully, a ball or 2 …or a call or 2, bounces in our direction.
