I think we can stop comparing the career Gators passing leader to Mertz.

So you truly didn't see all the shit talking about how CBN settled for "the worst QB in the portal" instead of getting guys from Pratt, Hartman, Leary, the dude from coastal Carolina and pretty much any other QB that was in the portal? You must have been hibernating. People were actually still holding out hope we would still add one of those guys and just have Mertz as a backup. Smh. Only 4 QB's in all of CFB had more experience yet people let their perception of Wisconsin QB's and their system influence on them cloud their opinions.

Speaking for myself I too was influenced by Whisky sucked, Mertz sucks and lets get another. Then Vegas said we were a 5 win team. It was kinda gloomy in the summer.

I did not however start posting that the season was over before it has begun.

I have been posting admiration for Mertz's efforts to be the best he can be and his hard work at gaining his teams confidence.

Of course I'm just a fan unassociated with the program, but ALL the surface stuff, and coach Napier himself, have said very positive things about Mertz since he came on board.

I think his completion % is incredible. As in Joe Burrow incredible. Of course this is downplayed by the naysayers and haters that wrote him off before the season and continue to do so now because he is not averaging 400 ypg.

Well - Utah is in the rear view mirror and UF has won three in a row. Hopefully a win at KY will keep the haters below the surface for another week.

An absolute must — and it’s easy to consider that Napier knows this and avoids longer-developing downfield pass plays accordingly.

Of course some here would rather just bitch and declare that Billy can’t call a good offense

To be fair, we really thought we had Pratt in the bag. I love Mertz though and hope he can be that guy that can stay healthy and hold it down until Lagway is ready.

I’d rather have a qb that can play the position. If he can run, that’s a huge bonus.

After five sacks to Utah, it didn’t happen against toothless

preseason, yup, plenty of doubters, that as I said, wanted the big name home run.

    Since the season started.

    No

And bourbon is clearly better, even as I sip a Lagavulin 16 blowing smoke rings without a cigar
