While the GOP is busy looking at private citizen Hunter they are missing the real government corruption going on in their back yard. Sara Sanders was caught and repayed trying to steal $20k for a friend's vacation. The governor paid two women tied to Jan. 6th $20,000 of taxpayer money. The governor’s office claimed the $20k expense was for a podium/lectern. The podium/lectern has not been seen; many speculate it doesn’t exist and the $20k paid for the governor’s Jan. 6 acquaintances to join her in Paris. The ARGOP reimbursed the state for the purchase only after the state was FOIA’d for their expenses. The whole thing looks and smells like a good old fashioned coverup. #Podiumgate by the dates
Sounds like she was caught, these were fraudulently submitted expenses, but when caught they did pay it back. So my guess is nothing happens at the state level, and the lesson learned will be for these crooks to just do a better job covering up next time or ignore FOIA requests like the corrupt FL Governor.
Aside from all the ridiculousness listed above ... $20,000 for a podium? That was considered a reasonable explanation of how the money was spent?
I know it does feel like with these stories coming out all time, but I understand that this is not really representative of our politicians. Most are honest people really wanting to do good, but we just don’t have stories about someone coming to work and not stealing or making a huge scene.
She is trying to change Arkasas law so she doesn’t get caught. If that isn't about covering up guilt, what is? LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) — Arkansas Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders on Friday proposed shielding a broad range of records about her administration, travel and security from public release as she called for a special legislative session next week focusing on additional tax cuts. The Republican governor proposed the new exemptions to the state’s Freedom of Information Act as the Arkansas State Police is being sued by an attorney and blogger who’s accused the agency of illegally withholding records about Sanders’ travel and security. FOIA experts said the changes would severely weaken the 1967 law — signed by the state’s first Republican governor since Reconstruction — that protects the public’s access to government meetings and records. You know, until just now when I saw a rating from each of you juxtaposed against one another, I had never noticed that @snatchmagnet and @magnetofsnatch were not the same poster. Mind blown.
The online sleuths are pointed out that the dates don't match up because it's the same lectern she used for her inauguration ... but it I guess it's possible they took 7 months to pay the bill. Oops... I didn't even see DC in there with the read line over it. So I change my post to, "One of these things is not like the others!"
