I saw that. But they live in their own bubble which may mean that they have no idea about the larger world out there. I saw one of them actually suggest that Taylor was dating Travis Kelce to try to bring publicity to her career. I don't think they even realize what a cultural for she is because they live in such a self-created bubble divorced from reality

There is one particular idiot commentator out there on Twitter saying she is a gold digger. Take a look at these numbers prior to her record breaking world tour:

    TS net worth: $740M
Chief entire salary cap for 2023: $202M.

Her music doesn't suck; you just don't like it, which is totally fine. But there's nothing objectively bad about her music.

Anyone claiming that an artist's art "sucks" is trying to argue an opinion as though it's a fact.

That has to be sarcasm or an attention hound. Tick tick has a funny trend going where wives film themselves asking their husbands what they think of Taylor putting Kelce on the map.. the guys get triggered. Very funny.

Taylor Swift only put him on a map for non-football people. Like 90+% of her fan base. It's a good business move for Travis Kelce.

if her net worth was $740 mil pre tour she obviously doesn't need any of the money she is making so I think she should donate all of it to the poor younger girls that are strapped with being forced into dealing with their poor decisions in getting pregnant. Could have the Swiftys home for forced pregnancies carried to term caused by Pubs.

Just another example how messed up society is about successful entertainers.

I'm sorry but creating noise via the vocal cords, especially regarding teen and young adult "heatbreak" hardly is worth the attention and certainly not the financial rewards she is receiving.

For all those that want to rush to her defense, let's reexamine how special she is for those dying of an incurable disease, then weigh her relative "importance" to the human race.

I personally think we're too obsessed with celebrity generally speaking. Having said that, the arts and entertainment are meaningful and fulfilling to a lot of people, whether it be paintings, music, theater, or sports. Lots of things would sound silly if you break them down to this level of detail. I remember meeting a kid when I was younger who said something along the lines of that he detested football and didn't see the fascination of people running around with a pigskin and committing violence on one another. I got the sense he was probably into Dungeons and Dragons or something much more meaningful.

So cynics have said about famous artists since the beginning of humanity.

And so here you are, posting on an internet message board about collegiate sports, as though that has any more "importance."

Nice post and my comment would apply to any entertainer in any profession.

I personally find it bizarre how fans cling to those in entertainment so insanely.

The fact is 90% + of them were just as common as the rest of us until their name got the neon treatment in lights.

However once they attain that status, then of course the game is to join the gilded classes of the rich and famous and leave the "rabble" (that by the way most of them were part of) for the exclusivity of the gilded, special, .001 %.

I agree and don't recall ever being personally that fanatical about a given celebrity. But I try to keep in mind whether it's singers, movie stars, athletes, or whatever, that many (not all) of the most rabid and emotionally-invested fans are kids or young adults. At some point, we understand that people we look up to or even admire are still just people.

A fundamental, if not the fundamental, differentiator for our species is our ability to tell stories or "imagined truths." It's what allowed home sapiens to dominate the entire world in less than 10,000 years.

So I would argue that what you call bizarre is just a specific manifestation of what makes us human. We create stories in our minds to ascribe importance to things that we choose to believe in, be it religion, government, brands, celebrities, etc.

    Fabulous point.
I would OBJECT to this statement:
"the fundamental differentiator of our species" ability to tell stories.

Certainly a POWERFUL argument about what sets us apart.

I would counter that the opposable thumb and the ability to make tools, is THE most significant differentiator that separates our species from all the rest.

Just my opinion of course. Yes certain mammals do utilize very simple tools, buy they are not making particle accelerators or Webb Space Telescopes.

Yea, thats the bit. The dudes go crazy about the implication he wasnt known before that as they rattle off his accomplishments to deadpanned wives replying.. but Taylor put him on the map.
