I don't know. The courts should have put a stop to it, but it's hard to trust Trump "judges" to do the right thing.

DeSantis cut off funding from 4 schools in Florida because he claims they are under the control of the Chinese Communist Party. One of the schools, Sagemont, is in my community in Weston. My kids had non-Chinese friends who went there, albeit that was yers ago. However, nobody in Weston talked about Sagemont as a Chinese School. It’s another desperate headline-grabber for our governor, and most likely is completely lacking substance.

But remember it was only ever going to be "age appropriate" which was always a lie. Erasure was the end game.

I recently watched one of the Moms Against Liberty leaders hand what were essentially scripts to her allies to read to try and get books (including award-winning and classic novels) they don't like banned from the school district. One of the MAGA school board members was in cahoots with them on it.

There's nothing stopping these people from opting their kids out of school libraries. Yet, that's not enough for them. They have to control what other people's kids can read. Pathetic.

Ron DeSantis appoints 3 to GRU Authority ahead of court ruling
Gov. Ron DeSantis has appointed three of the five members to the Gainesville Regional Utilities Authority board which will be responsible for making all decisions related to the municipal utility.

But there's one major problem: None of them live within the city's boundaries, as required by law.

The governor on Tuesday evening named James Coats IV, Robert Karow and Christopher "Eric" Lawson − all registered Republicans − to the first-ever GRU Authority that will strip away Gainesville's control of its utility. Despite multiple requests by The Gainesville Sun over the past couple of months, DeSantis' office has refused to supply any records from applicants for the board in defiance of the state's public record laws.

House Bill 1645, sponsored by state Rep. Chuck Clemons, states that four of the five members must be city voters residing within the municipal boundaries − the other in the county − and have GRU electric services during their terms. Voter registration information, however, shows all three of DeSantis' appointees live on the outskirts, The Sun confirmed.

I don’t think it is the inherently (and didn’t claim so in my post) but I do think under certain circumstances it can give rise to activism.
