Speaking of bourbon, my favorite distillery is Heaven Hill in Bardstown, KY. This beautiful bottle of 17yr bourbon sits on my shelf awaiting a very special occasion.

A win over KY sure would be nice, but it will take something much more special to open that bottle of HH 17. I've got plenty of other good whiskey to enjoy in the meantime. :)For ex, I've got a bottle of this open right now:

Man, I really wanted to try that one. I am a fan of their limited offerings and am a Tennessee Squire. I don’t live too far from the distillery and went by there looking for the 12 after they announced it and struck out.

I'm not gonna lie - It's fanfreakin'tastic. Here's what I wrote in my review in the Pub's whiskey thread:
    https://www.gatorcountry.com/swampgas/threads/lets-talk-whiskey-whisky.422783/

Nose: This immediately gets your attention in a pleasant way. In addition to its welcoming sweetness (caramel and sweet cherries), it's rich. This is a nose that makes the whiskey enthusiast feel alive. I get cornbread, caramel, maple syrup, brown sugar, vanilla, and leather on the back end. Can it possibly taste this good?

Palette: Zing! Caramel-covered apples, baking spice, mildly dark chocolate and chocolate-covered cherries start the show. Moderate spice joins in and gives way to the confluence of flavors that inhabit the finish.

Finish: This is moderately long - competing with some of the best whiskeys I've enjoyed. Starts with the spice that so nicely complements this whiskey, then revisits the apple and cherry fruit + chocolate. It goes back to the corn sweetness before riding out on sweet fruity notes.

There is a sweetness theme here that persists, while being complemented by spicy, leathery flavors.

Did the last patrol of the USS Henry Clay SSBN 625 in 1989. KY Governor made us all Kentucky Colonels. So I’ve got that going for me.
