meh. All we heard for months leading up to the debates was about how senile Joe was. Expectations were low and he exceeded them. It’s setting up the same way again.

 

I think age is a fair critique on both Trump and Biden. I think Trump is much sharper than Sleepy Joe, but I really don't think that's what this election is about. It's as simple as "are you better off in the Biden Administration than you were in the Trump Administration?" And no, that doesn't mean comparing a pandemic Trump to a post-pandemic Biden. Compare pre-pandemic Trump to post-pandemic Biden and you should have your answer.

 

Take away Trump's adderall and cocaine and see how sharp he sounds.

I'm sure COVID will stop having an impact in your eyes the second a Republican takes office, then we're supposed to have a no excuses mentality. "The buck stops with him."

The fact that you want to put an asterisk on the whole Biden Administration due to COVID should tell you everything you need to know about the Biden Administration.

 

As far as I see it, only one item needs an asterisk and that is inflation. Even with that, it has come down more than half of what it was 2 years ago. For some reason people believe that the world stops and starts with the next president.

"The world doesn't stop and start with the President" is not exactly a glowing endorsement of the Biden Administration.

Also, some of these "accomplishments" aren't even finalized yet and may never be finalized like the student debt forgiveness. Most of these "accomplishments" are plain old bad policy.

 

What I am saying is that each president inherits the same economy the previous president had, it doesn't reset because there is someone new in office. Our economy doesn't pause to see what the next guy will do.

 

I think the liberal logic is it works something like this:

Obama saved the economy despite overseeing the slowest economic recovery since the Great Depression.

Trump destroyed the economy despite being confronted with the worst pandemic in 100 years where the entire world shut down.

Biden just inherited the Trump COVID economy and we're supposed to just throw our hands in the air and use that as an explanation for the entire Biden Administration, despite the pandemic being over since 2021. But also, this Administration has not been a failure, guys. It's all going according to plan.

I don't claim to know a lot about economics, but do you really think the pandemic and recovery (which is still going on) have had absolutely no effect on the supply train issues, worker shortage, inflation, etc ... Zero? None?
