Negativity? I see a lot of people here who are interested in and concerned for the team. BTW, UF has already lost a match.
TV showed Alexis several times on the sidelines. It is nice seeing her up and around somewhat and supporting the team. When it is all said and done, I wouldn't be surprised if she doesn't leave Florida as one of the greatest Gator VB players of all time.
Everyone has to adjust. Just stating a fact among attackers and one of their functions…passing, serving, and blocking in a team orientation being the others.
I'm very proud and excited for these young women.... Georgia was and is no pushover this year in volleyball. I like the spirit and never give up attitude that these women exude as a team. There cohesive and well coached. We all should be proud of the effort, attitude, and fight they have shown the last 2+ games!! Simply put, I'm proud that they dawn the Gator's uniform every day! Go Gators!!
I was having dinner at a friend's house and only got to see most of the fifth set. What impressed me most was the awesome serving of AC. That was incredible and very timely.
It's amazing that AC has so many kills at 5'11". Just reviewing our roster and now I see why Stuckey said in her statement that she was disappointed not to be able to play with these seniors. We're losing a lot of great players.
I have an idea on why Kentucky has fallen off this season compared to previous seasons. It involves the transfer portal: UGA's Sophie Fischer who was a killer for the poodles against UF on Sunday is a UK transfer. When UF faced Auburn, they had a UK transfer who played well for them. Texas has 2 UK transfers on their roster. That's 4 transfers out of UK that I have heard mentioned by TV announcers. Every team has transfers these days so I can't say for sure this is why UK has dropped off in performance, just offering a possible cause. It's not like UK is untalented, it's that UK has had a noticeable drop in performance.
AC is a former Florida Gatorade High School Player of the Year who went to Penn State before coming home to UF for her junior and senior seasons. She is athletic and talented in the extreme. Her only flaw is that she doesn't have the height one expects to see as an OH, but she has learned how to play with the height she has. Scrappy called out AC last year as someone he wanted to see getting PT, think she is his favorite player.
SEC Defensive Player of the Week: Okammor Tabbed as SEC Defensive Player of the Week - Florida Gators Nnedi Okammor, 6'4" MB, has been named Co-SEC Defensive Player of the Week. She led the team with 10 blocks against the poodles which is her career high. Tennessee looks like the real deal winning multiple SEC weekly awards: Player of the Week: Morgahn Fingall, Tennessee Offensive Player of the Week: Morgahn Fingall, Tennessee Co-Defensive Player of the Week: Nnedi Okammor, Florida and Emily Beeker, Tennessee Setter of the Week: Hannah Hogue, Arkansas Freshman of the Week: Caroline Kerr, Tennessee
Athletic and talented is why I'm hoping AC cross trains at setter for when Muff is out of the game defensively. She is the one player with the ability needed to pull this off. It would also add another hitter on the front row in those situations. After playing 4 consecutive 5 setters, every point and advantage helps. I don't know that this would work, but it might be worth trying out in practice.
She completely revamped her body and she’s showing the explosiveness with her arm and movement again. It’s a beautiful thing to see an athlete refuse to go out without a fight.
