Our oline is average at best in my opinion. Kentucky isn’t Georgia’s front seven but they are good and play solid . They’ve been up for the games more than us lately. They believe they can win now and we get their best effort. We are maybe a bit more talented but we have to want it a little more than we have in the past. Hopefully we come out with some intensity than we did last year, they should have our attention by now.

Probably so but it sure would be nice to do the same as we did to Tennessee in the first half, give ‘em a good ol bitch slap.

I assume we'll hear about practices. The word was we had mediocre practices last week, and it showed game-day. we also had missing players thru suspension and injuries. And, it was an uninspiring matchup FWIW.

Our defense should give them trouble. The Gator "D" is on fuego. I'm sure our student assistant player alum will be screaming at them reminding them that we don't lose to Kentucky. We also have Bordingham now. That guy is ready to explode. The folks in Lexington will make this challenging. But we need to prevail or the rebuild will take more time.

We need to beat these folks in their house.

    Beat the Kentucky Wildcats!

    Go Gators.;)

Agreed with everything except your view on Napes. I could see he had a system and a plan but would need time. There will be good times and not so good along the way. I like the way he is building the program. He does need to get over the hump (beat KY Sat,) and if he does it this year, he would be 1 year ahead of where most thought we would be. Spot on with the rest of the analysis.

Looking forward to this game. Should be a good one and a Gator win.
I do not look forward to Mark Stoops whining, pizzing and moaning in whatever officials’ ear he can reach the entire game. That is a givin.
He reminds me of Pat Dye at Auburn. It alway seemed to me that by the 4th qtr the officials were throwing flags at us just to shut him up. Seems like we lost a game to them because of a phantom call on Wilber Marshal one season.
If officials start warning, then flagging coaches for unsportsmanlike conduct for constant carping and complaining it would force better behavior on cry babies like Stoops.

Before the Tennessee game, I got prepared by stocking up on more bourbon. It seemed to work. Then came Charlotte. I think I have to change preparation strategies.

This should work. At least I HOPE it does. I am running out of ideas...

I have a much different view as you can imagine. I love that he is intense and into the game. The reason he has had to be like that is early in his time at UK we did get screwed a lot. I understand Gator fans don’t care or have a clue about that.
Stoops has made football tolerable and me a much bigger fan than I thought was possible. It is a good thing when rivals don’t like your coach. I imagine everyone loved Brooks, Joker etc when we were getting our asses beat. Lol

Understand and I am respectful of your feelings. I like passion on the sidelines too and you do have to let the officials know you are there. But to butcher a line of Shakespeare, “The coach doth protest too much”.
As far as Gators not understanding being “screwed”, you really are not very knowledgeable of our history.

I was saying that the Gator fans don’t know the history of UK getting screwed. I also do not know Gator football history in that regard. I hope you understand my point and no disrespect to Florida at all.

I'm sure Kentucky fans are very happy with Stoops as their HC.....but.
He is 19-46 vs FBS school's
    40-7 vs all other teams.

If I may get into your conversation, two things come to mind. The first is that it took Stoops quite a few years to implement his idea of a program and so he was a "lovable loser" to us Gators. But then his trajectory and ours converged and suddenly he isn't so "lovable" anymore. Not much different than Kentucky and Louisville (albeit they are state rivals). You don't like it when they don't know how to stay in their lane. And so...

But to me, what I find so "entertaining" about Stoops is that he is about the best rendition in the coaching ranks of the "punchable face." I have become a Burrows fan as he progresses in the NFL, but he was a GREAT face to punch with voracity at LSU. Some guys just "have it". Stoops to me has it.

Unfortunately, UF makes up a sizable percentage of those 19 FBS wins he has, And, remember, UK used to have a poor winning percentage against the "all others" category, too. Stoops has had his team prepared for UF every year.

IMO, the worst thing that can happen is that UF would take the lead in (or, into) the 3rd qtr. In that instance, I'd expect CBN to revert to his "prevent offense" (new clock rules, yada yada, blah blah) and let UK hang around long enough that they could pull out a win at the end of the game.

I try to be respectful to everyone and I try to remember opposing coaches, they are just that- OPPOSING.
Stoops gets a lot of love from the media clowns and even some opposing fans but I don’t see it.
I think his stint at FSU rubbed off on him. He has been quick to defend players who have crossed the line. The six charged with burglary with a gun involved, guilty or innocent, show a different type of player being recruited. Kinda reminds me of Tallahassee justice.
Anyone who wants to toot Stoop’s horn should remember one name, Kash Daniel. I can forgive him for trying to maliciously injure Kyle Trask by twisting his ankle at the bottom of a pile after the play was over. He did apologize. But Stoops didn’t even take him out of the game. Darnell Dockett with Bobby Bowden justice all over again.

You have to understand where we have come from during his tenure. He has made UK competitive in the SEC, which I did not think was even possible. Before him, football was just months before basketball but now I am a bigger football fan then basketball which is crazy to even think about.
