When it comes down to short/medium/long throws attempts, how does Billy's offense compare. I only really watched the first half of the Tenn game, but it seems very short heavy. Inflates QB % numbers.

The Redzone trend is telling, really shows how teams understand his scheme and are stopping it. He must evolve.

Penalties stop the drives not the offense. Same offense last year had plays over the top with AR because that was AR. Last year we couldn’t throw a Pass within 10 yards of the line of scrimmage and that’s not because of the offense.

Billy likes a crowded los for his blocking schemes. As the field gets tighter it gets really crowded. Not much margin for error or success.
Some of it is also on QB to recognize DL lineups that might cause issues with the play. 3 on the line to 1 blocker, you best be moving fast!

i'm a Gator fan since '92. Both my kids went to UF from '95 to 2008. one for 5 years the other 8 We went up quite frequently. The best of times. When Urban came in they hated his O, said it would never work. Tebow and Percy arrived and all of a sudden the O exploded.
    SOS was the best.

CBN is doing a lot of great things with this team. I'm very optimistic about our future. IMO, the scheme or whatever people want to call it Is irrelevant now I wont get bent out of shape about it now. CBN did in one year what Mullen couldn''t, get rid of his cronies and bring in great coaches. im sure next off season with more recruiting and changes the O will be very good, maybe even a different 'scheme. I could be wrong but i expect this rebuild to take another year or 2 with the ultimste goal of competing for NC's on a regular basis

Yep , I expect the finished product to be quite different from what we are seeing. Las year offense and this years aren’t comparable but just a product of personnel. Franks to Yrask was night and day playcalling. We will see.

Late 70s & late 80s were rough. Every time UF's QB stepped back to throw I was always afraid they will score (the opposing team).

Kyle Morris to Stacey Simmons….. always hopes that combo would hit it deep… almost always disappointed…

Mullen looked like the offensive genius he probably was when Trask was the QB. Prior to the QB change, it seemed like we never had open receivers.

We are not going to see a Napier offense built on jump balls. There's no process or good probabilities associated with that.

Just enjoy the building process & let's see what happens.

We have great coaches and some very young players. We are 3-1 not 1-3 or 0-4. We were missing most of the O line last game. Let’s go to Kentucky and show them they are playing a real team instead of all the cupcakes they schedule at the start of every season! They are 4-0 big deal! They haven’t played anyone!

I think that was more Johnson than Mullen. But that’s just my opinion.

The changing of the plays came the following year during the "decline in offensive output" that was when they had the falling out.

I also believe some of the issues in the redzone is he is just now getting his "receiving tight ends" ,boardingham and livingston situated. He's tried going to the TE's in the Endzone before like Zanders and Hansen but those guys are not receiving threats. We Seen last game , merts threw in the RZ to find Boardingham in the endzone forna TD and with CBN I believe the TEs will play a huge role down there, it's just the 2 True freshman pass catching TEs we have have a total of 4 games or less under there belt at the college level so they'll get there the more experience they get.

Shouldn’t he adjust his offense to the personnel?

Utah put 8 in the box and we were taking what they were giving us but shot ourselves in the foot with penalties (o-line) when it mattered (too excited perhaps), there were times we just didn't execute. However, Utah is showing to be a pretty decent team, particularly defensively. Young team on the road for the first game against a quality opponent .... defense kept us in it. The team did get up for this game.

Again with McNeese we took what they were giving and looked a lot sharper against an over matched team. They played to take away the deep ball. The team was focused for this game.

1st half with Tenn again we seemed to take what they gave us and we found the end-zone 4 times, 3 from inside the red-zone. Good o-line play. The second half we went conservative and tried to run clock and had drives stall, too predictable. I would have liked to have seen a more aggressive approach but the team is young, the defense was playing great, new clock rules.... we won by 13. The team was focused again for this game.

Charlotte - other than the first drive we seem to have a hangover from the week before. We moved the ball well between the 20s but as discussed we seemed to end up putting ourselves behind the chains, poor execution IMO mostly. Glad we found a kicker. The o-line was a patch work quilt. The team was not focused. Game was never in doubt.

All that too say is I don't think we can take too much from last week. Way too early for all the "mashing of teeth" IMO.

I fully expect the team to be ready to play Saturday and expect to see an offense that again takes what is given and moves the ball. I also expect youth will play a factor but I do expect a win, but then again I always do. :)
