No idea if these are good numbers or not, but since we are spending around $25 billion on the southern border per year, that is a drop in the bucket to what we are spending on govt outreach to Illegal immigrants.

    And you missed this part...

The Israeli government cites a decreased number of suicide bombings carried out from the West Bank as evidence of its efficacy, after such attacks fell from 73 between 2000 and July 2003 (the completion of the first continuous segment) to 12 between August 2003 and the end of 2006.[8][9]

That is a hell of a decrease. Of course that isn't good enough for some.

They aren't good numbers. So the point is moot.

And your plan is to spend more than $25 billion to prevent the other costs when apparently the $25 billion did no such thing.

And you forgot to mention that was attributed in the Wikipedia entry you linked to increased military operations, not the wall. Regardless, the great success lasted how long until they figured out a work around, according to the article you linked?

If the US spent $25 billion(not close to all of it for the wall itself), then outlay a significant number and make it better. But let's just say oh well and let our country get overrun by illegal immigration. Brilliant!

Okay, so how many billion do you want to stop complaining about it? It won't work, so no matter how much we spend, we will have illegal immigration until we undo the mistakes that were the 1924 Immigration Laws (and their successors), but is there an actual number that would make you all happy while we still have substantial illegal immigration?

It did? Because the article you linked claimed it didn't, and that was a result of a series of other policies. So either your claim or the article you initially used to make your claim is wrong. Which is it?

What would make me happy would be to have a well designed wall similar to Israel but with much more advanced technology. Anyone thinking the status quo is ok is part of the problem. Would it be a large undertaking? Yes. Do I believe it will ultimately save the US money and hurt the drug trade? Yes.

Nope. You are wrong. Here is Politifact trying to say the wall didn't really do it's job lol. You sound like Politifact. Proof the wall has slowed the number of attacks. I'll accept your apology now.

Okay, so we will build your wall over the parts of the border where basically nobody crosses, matching the walls in the parts where people do (and still do despite the wall), and that will stop illegal entry, despite the fact that the existing wall didn't do anything to stop it even in those areas. Okay. I am sure that the wall in the middle of nowhere will stop all the people willing to hike thousands of miles across Central America and Mexico, who are mostly crossing in the areas that already have walls. The new wall in the area where they aren't crossing anyway is where they will draw the line, for sure.

SPLC claims its leaders have ties to White supremacist groups. Even assuming that's overstated or is a coincidence, I am skeptical of their motives and numbers. There was some reporting suggesting that they like to include in the negative numbers kids who are American citizens and getting an education. Their very own website indicates that they want significant cuts to legal immigration as well as illegal.

    Federation for American Immigration Reform

FAIR leaders have ties to white supremacist groups and eugenicists and have made many racist statements. Its advertisements have been rejected because of racist content. FAIR’s founder, the late John Tanton, has expressed his wish that America remain a majority-white population: a goal to be achieved, presumably, by limiting the number of nonwhites who enter the country. One of the group’s main goals is upending the Immigration and Nationality Act of 1965, which ended a decades-long, racist quota system that limited immigration mostly to northern Europeans. FAIR President Dan Stein has called the Act a “mistake.”

US Legal Immigration News & Articles

At FAIR, we believe that a well thought-out and well-enforced immigration policy plays an important role in helping maintain the quality of life in America. Without common sense limitations on immigration and the resulting population growth, virtually every social cause is a lost cause.

FAIR seeks to reduce overall immigration to a level that is more manageable and which more closely reflects past policy.

Reducing legal immigration from well over one million presently to 300,000 a year over a sustained period will allow America to more sensibly manage its growth, address its environmental needs, and maintain a high quality of life.

FAIR's immigration study is fatally flawed according to the Libertarian CATO Institute. Two major issues. One, they include the children of immigrants born in the US as part of their numbers, even though these kids are children. And two, and much larger, FAIR uses static scoring, instead of dynamic. So the cost we pay to educate a child today is continued through his/her lifespan! Dynamic scoring, which is a lot more accurate, would know that at age 30, a child at 10 today wouldn't cost us anything to educate, and would be, instead, paying taxes into the system.

Throwing good money after bad and an attempt to do the same things over and over again but expecting different results is insane. No super wall is going to be impenetrable. Especially walls in isolated, desolate areas with extreme weather conditions, which a wall along our S. border contains many miles of such terrain.

So it worked in Israel but not here. Got it...

    Lazy thinking. Not surprising.

Your own link said that it didn't work in Israel. Setting aside that "working" is to stop an entirely different activity (immigration vs. suicide bombings), your own link said that it was not a major factor in stopping suicide bombings. If you wish to dispute your own link, go ahead and argue with Wikipedia.
