This 1000%. Some people are just gonna rub some people the wrong/right way. Why this has become such a controversial issue illustrates a sad state of affairs. Why does there have to be any kind of agenda to my like/dislike? For those of us who go back far enough to remember him as a criminole, there is a fair amount of material there. He has always been about him. He has an extensive track record that has been discussed here already. Don’t want anything to happen to him, his family, or his toes, but why can’t I have an opinion about the person? Sad.
Well, I guess I'm obtuse. Please point out some of these 'slick statements' that run afoul of polite society, bearing in mind that we're talking about a CFB message board, which defines the standard. Bc what I see, is hypersensitivity by the church of prime congregation, for those of us who just see slick n shiny huckster, and call it like we see it (with an admitted anti hole bent...).
With all due respect, I have a right to feel how I feel and you don't know my life experiences. Should I tell you that you shouldn't feel how you feel about Deion? Yes, I feel how I feel, and I believe I have reason to feel that way. I don't understand why are you defending yourself against something that doesn't apply to you. You just stated that there are people who don't Deion because he's black but you don't, and you could have just said that and moved on instead of whining that it's not true for the past two days. Nobody here said "all Deion hate is race-based", so it's a straw man argument. I like posting here and I don't think it's appropriate to say something that accusatory and inflammatory, especially since we are not in the Too Hot section.
Nobody said you can't have an opinion about the guy. Certainly, I didn't. I find it hypocritical that you agreed with Wanne15 1000% that I shouldn't have my feelings, yet complain why you feel you can't have your own opinion.
You can feel however you want and that’s not my intention to tell you how to feel. I do however think there’s none of that type of hate here.
Technically, I wasn’t really focused in on the feelings part. That was my bad. I was just more focused on the general sentiment being expressed. Sorry I wasn’t clearer on that. edited to add: the fact that we’re even having this conversation is telling. Again, if Hugh Freeze, LK, or heck, that pencil neck nole qb whose name I can’t recall was coaching Colorado, this would be a 3 page thread.
Everyone has a right to an opinion. When that opinion ascribes a purported belief to others' opinion then it tends to rub people wrong. Gotta take people at face value.
Thought that was why SOS was concerned that the library burned down, and some of the coloring books hadn't been colored yet.
“Agenda” is dramatically strong language. I think he was simply expressing his views on a situation. I’m not willing to describe it as an agenda.
I am not a Deion fan. It is always about him. But he has taken a 1-11 football team and turned it around. They probably win 7 or 8 games this year. He knows how to use the portal just like the FSU coach.
I think the hate is a little spicier here for 2 reasons. Deion is in his 4th year of coaching & the sports media hype machine has been insufferable since the hire. no need to overthink something that should be filed under DUH
Not sure where the confusion is, Deion is a celebrity and a douche. There is almost nothing in our society that is more popular than that combination. The disdain for Deion is more a comment on the state of society in general (at least when it comes to media/public discourse). The boohoo for players that were told to transfer is outdated. PLAYERS fought for the right to make money for playing football in college, as they should be. It is completely logical that the resulting response from coaches is to treat them like employees rather than students. If you are not performing, seek employment elsewhere. Posters on this very board who called for us to "clean house" are the same ones clutching their pearls that Deion cleaned house.
