I did answer, it is in the very first sentence. Mullen wasn't fired because of the offense's production in 2020, to even begin to suggest that is why he is no longer our coach is completely wrong. The whole origin of this stupid argument was entirely about the offensive scheme. Head coaches and their success are not judged only by their offensive production. Ridiculous that I even have to state that because I never said anything of the sort. Seriously, pull the quote where I suggested offensive production is the only thing that matters?
Didn’t Steele then go to Oregon and then xfer again, he was supposed to be all world. I think I also recall our wideouts torching him in practices. Haven’t heard his name since.
We have one football on the free side for everyone. We also have rules for people to follow to make the place tolerable for most. It is our desire for people to post and have good discussions. The forum is open to all who follow the rules. We will delete posts that violate the rules and suspend the accounts of the users when necessary. The are other forums and sites that have different rules that might not be as restrictive and everyone is free to venture out and try them. If you like it here we would like you to post within our rules, if you choose not to we can handle that as well. @tilly @ETGator @MCB51 @OklahomaGator @g8orbill
I don't know.... If you told me that we could automatically take 5 FG's and a TD against Kentucky, I might take it. This game could easily be an 8 possession each type game, and if we were to score on 6 of the 8 possessions, I think we would probably win.
Bizarre way to lose a BIG game. Speaking after the game, Freeman said he was aware the team had 10 players on the field, but couldn't take the necessary timeout to make sure he got his 11th player (a fourth defensive lineman) out onto the field. "Yeah, we were trying to get a fourth D-lineman on the field," Freeman said. "I told him to just stay off, because we can't afford a penalty — I didn't have any timeouts. Right? So we couldn't afford a penalty there. Yeah, it's on us. We've gotta be better."
I had other commitments and couldn't watch the game: simple question? did we try to NOT score a touchdown in the 2nd half? I'm so confused on this box score. 5 field goals The only TD was the first drive of the game. 2 fumbles 1-9 on 3rd down 0-1 on 4th down UF 4 sacks, Charlotte 3 sacks How does your QB complete 20 of 23 passes yet, you only scored 1 TD the entire game? I'm perplexed. Charlotte gave up 41 to Georgia State.... so here is my concern -- we seem to always take 1 step forward, but then a few steps backwards.
That's why they call it a rebuild Traub. Year 1 was the cull out. Year 2 is the rebuild with tons of youth. Fans here treat football games like beauty contests, may be nice for a message board but wins and loses determine the season. Ky is a huge game, I am excited about this big game. UF is in need for a quality road win.
Trey Smack is SEC special teams player of the week! Well done! Looks like another Kyle Trask type of situation, the more capable player was sitting on the bench all along. Edit to add the graphic:
Except unlike that situation the staff realized the error all on their own after 2 games and made the change
Except not, because last year Smack was a freshman and didn't even attempt so much as an XP in a game. Mihalek was 42-43 on XP but only 67% on field goals. It's reasonable to give the benefit of the doubt that Smack wasn't doing great in practice last year but made strides to take the job after 2 games this year.
Sounds like you're listening to a certain podcast that has a known bias against this type of offense. Missing 60% of the starting offensive line in the first half, 40% of the line, including the center who apparently really makes the line work, for the entire game.
Hard to believe there is any situation where it's better to play a man down than take the penalty. Incredible. I don't watch sports news but he should be roasted for admitting how that transpired.
Except the change happened in Game 3!!! What game was it last year when Etienne took over Wright's spot?
