Pre-Game Discussion: #22 FLORIDA at Kentucky

I'd never thought I'd see the day where potentially we could lose to UK 3 in a row or that we would have to be really up for this game just to win it. I know there were many times they played us tough but getting beat back to back for an ole gator is so very hard. I'm hoping we don't smack them instead let's clobber them.

 

Anyone seen the spread?

 

It opened @ UK -3.5 earlier today and is now down to UK -3.

 

Very happy SEC Nation is there. Their choice of games so far has been interesting.

 

I see a grind it out physical game in which the Gators prevail. Billy is learning on a big stage and UT proved he’s getting better. This by far ( more so than UT) is his biggest test because of quality opponent and it’s on the road. I say he leads us to victory.

 

1-9 last 10 SEC games not at the Swamp.

 

No need for multiple keys to the game. If we can run consistently we win, if not we lose.

As discussion continues, it may help to remember that each game stands on its own. Hard to pick this one, but I believe if we play our best, we win. Up to the coaching now.

 

My heart wants the W but my mind says not going to happen. Our record on the road under BN is not good and Stoops is much better at calling and game planning his D than BN is on our offense. I just don’t see us scoring against Stoops D. Our D will keep us in it, but without the ability to challenge them downfield they will have 8-9 in the box and we have really struggled vs those fronts. The reason we scored on UT is because they had 5-6 in the box. Which played right into what we do best, run the ball. Gonna be a slog.

 

This is a very pivotal game in the season, imho. Stoops puts together solid teams that play hard. Leary is a gunslinger who likes to chuck it downfield. Bringing back Liam Coen as the OC was a really good move for UK. Stoops mauled Billy ball last year, I hope that has stuck in Billy’s craw. I just don’t believe playing small ball will beat Kentucky though. UF must open the field up Saturday.

 

I absolutely love our coaching staff. White, Coen, and Stoops is one heck of a staff.

It’s going to come down to chunk plays and who has more of them.

Etienne and Pearsall really scare me and our offensive line.

 

I expect a win. Florida is way more battle-tested.

 

It’s either the win in Napes cap on the road or it’s a setback. We need to win the TO margin or we lose. It will be a grind it out defensive battle. Who makes the most mistakes loses.
They have a very good D and an offense still trying to gel but have very good skill players at RB, receiver and a QB is solid. Big test!!!

 

Interesting, Kentucky is not ranked in the polls even though it hasn't lost a game yet. We are ranked higher than Kentucky. Bulletin board material for the Cats?

 

No and for two reasons.
1. You shouldn’t need bulletin board for an SEC game to get pumped up.
2. We don’t deserve to be ranked with the schedule we have played.
