Florida wins a very sloppy game 22-7. Moved the ball well at times . . . until they got to the red zone. Need to finish drives with TDs. Smack did a great job with FGs tonight though. 5/5. Florida is 3-1 and not 2-2 as many predicted. There sure are a lot of things to work on and the coaches have a lot of yelling material and humbling video to use this week to get ready to play in Lexington next Saturday.
Ugly W, but W. It had the makings for an ugly one after the highs of UT. A little concerning cause we saw those gremlins last year. Youth? I hope they come out pumped on the road against UK. Big game.
This team is not even close to being able to handle Kentucky next week. Kentucky is probably better all around than Tennessee and we are awful road warriors.
I love Billy, and I want him to succeed as badly as I've wanted any Gator coach to succeed since probably Meyer. He is the real deal and a fantastic representative of the University. Nothing but love for Billy, the man. But what is becoming clear to me is that if the run schemes aren't working, for whatever reason, this offense isn't working. And I hope Billy sees how big of a problem that is and addresses it. Otherwise, it could very well spell his doom. This offense, long term, just won't cut it. Please, Billy, get a passing game coordinator next off-season, and let's fine tune this ship because its predictable at times, and woefully ineffective at worst. That being said, I continue to love what the D is doing. Charlotte presented some different looks we hadn't seen all year, and we struggled at times, but made adjustments and stuck it out. Another good showing. Here's hoping getting some guys healthy this week AND A GOOD WEEK OF PRACTICE will help us prepare for Kentucky. We owe the kitties some tough lovin'... GO GATORS!
We seem to be barely 2 deep and the entire team played like they were NOT into this game. One more year and several portal gains and we should be one year from ideal team strength. Now all we need to figure out is how to avoid rat-poison.
I feel like we went back in time, back to 2011-2016 again with this team. Somewhat solid Defense with an Offense with no identity and relies on a lot of luck to find the endzone.
Mertz is avg 78% completion percentage through 4 games AND our defense is allowing only 13.5 points per game. Both near the top in the country
