I don’t know about that. Watching the replay over and over and I don’t see a dirty hit. I don’t know if they called it anything on the field or not. Looked similar to the Major Wright hit on Oklahoma to me. I had to slow the video down because it was fast and violent, just don’t see anything illegal. Maybe I’m wrong and up to see your interpretation of why it’s dirty. He had a lacerated liver, not a concussion. The gif was a shoulder to the chest, not his head to any part of his body. I will 100% agree that it’s unfortunate but I don’t know about dirty, people get injured on clean plays too.

On another note, this is something I was saying prior to this injury and it doesn’t bring me satisfaction now that it’s happened. I think Hunter is a great player and a stud. However I don’t believe he’s some ungodly player because he can play both sides of the ball. I bet a majority of kids in college can play both ways for entire game. They did it in HS, they can do it in college. In my opinion, ANY coach that plays kids both ways for entire games is putting that kid at undue risk and this is why almost every coach plays you on one side or the other. Fatigue causes more injuries whether it’s minor or major. My worry for Hunter is when it comes time for the Draft, are teams gonna look past him due to how many “miles” he has on him.

    College Football TV Ratings
Colorado’s double-overtime win over Colorado State dominated week three of the college football season with a season-high 9.3 million viewers, despite starting at 10 PM ET (and ending after 2 AM). It delivered the fifth-largest regular season college football audience ever on ESPN.

Tenn vs UF got 5.3 million

The play was clearly dirty. Let that same hit happen to a Gator player and folks would be calling for the defender to be arrested.

I’m not trying to argue with you about it. I stated why I don’t think it was dirty, you have yet to say why it is. He got there at the same time as the ball got to him if he would have caught it. Shoulder into his chest. It’s a violent play, but it’s not dirty. If he would have hit him in the head or left his feet I’d likely agree with you. Like I said, it was similar to Major Wright’s hit.

It look similar to Major’s hit in video but everything I read calls it a late hit. If it’s late and the defender knows he was late I guess that would be dirty. He definitely didn’t take a shot at his head the way the puppy hit Pitts a couple years ago. If the defender didn’t realize he was late, that’s just football and a flag, no ejection necessary. Just looking at the actual hit though, it’s textbook.

I agree with all that. Didn’t look late to me watching the video but I could be wrong. Looks like the ball just passed his hands and in that instance you are still told to make that contact because you can’t know for sure at that speed.

Just watched it again, they are 2 yards away from each other when the ball hits the ground. That’s 6’ or roughly the height of someone all while all 3 players are running full speed to make a play. I say good play even if it was on a Gator, it’s unfortunate he got hurt but it is a heavy contact sport.

Impossible to say really. Many times a defender doesn’t look at the ball, only the receiver. Major said he had no interest in the ball and wanted to strike fear in the receiver to set a tone. I’ve watched tgat play 100 times at least and it’s veeeeery close to being slightly early maaaaybe. These teams had bad blood from too much talking already and I’m sure the defender gave him a good shot. It wasn’t to tge head and it’s been called late but did the kid know that, maaaaybe.

The defender tracked Hunter the entire time and leveled him. Then sauntered over to him to taunt before walking away. Definition of a cheap shot and a dirty play, but like I said folks who don’t like Deion/Colorado will find some way to act like the hit wasn’t all that bad. Let that same exact thing happen to a Gator player and folks would be singing a much different tune.

Deion being the classy guy he is says the dirty player is a “good kid” and that he and his team have forgiven him and says people need to stop sending him death threats. He’s a much better man than most coaches.

Kinda how I see it. Maybe a late hit and a penalty but he didn’t take his head off. Very unfortunate for the kid that got hurt but it happens. Dion even said as much but maybe he’s just taking the high road.

Sauntered over him is the definition of a cheap shot?!? So 95% of all defensive players must be throwing cheap shots every game!

Hits like that haven’t happened solely to Sir Primeness’ team, it happens to every team, Gators and Bears (my NFL team) included. I can speak for EVERYONE on this board who may say that’s a dirty hit to a Florida player, but I can sit here and look at what happened and look at the circumstances and say that had that been Wilson streaking down the sideline and got hit like that, it’s not a cheap shot. You are blinded by your “double standard” that you project everywhere.

It was a clear cheap shot and a dirty hit. I naturally don't expect folks who aren't fans of Prime or his team to agree.
