By: Eric Fawcett -- September 21, 2023 With the college basketball season less than two months away we’re well into preview season–and that means preview magazines. Preview magazines that cover every team in the sport have become a tradition for many college basketball fans who can get a look at the landscape of the sport overall but more specifically–the league they’re most interested in. Where Preview Magazines Are Predicting Florida In The SEC | GatorCountry.com
Thanks ET for sharing this and thanks @Efawcett7 for the writeup. It's interesting that The Almanac is considered the most reputable mag, given its short existence. I was curious about this portion: As you can see, The Almanac projections are more of a departure than Lindy’s and Blue Ribbon’s which could be due to their intel, or the fact that they have a more up to date ranking. Whatever it is, they have the Gators finishing 7th which in a talented SEC would likely be good enough for an SEC birth. How was almanac's projection a departure from Lindy's, which also ranked FL #7 in the SEC? P.S. I think you mean an ncaa birth there.
Not where they had Florida's projection, but where they had the SEC on the whole like with Texas A&M first
I find it hard to believe a 7th place finish is going to get any SEC teams into the NCAA tourney. Especially not us.
I want to say when I was following along with the guys at Three Man Weave they had UF ranked 20th overall which was the 6th best of SEC teams. I will be interested to hear their preview when they get to the SEC on the podcast since they are involved with the Almanac.
