Gator Baseball 2024 OFFICIAL ROSTER/Transfer Tracker/Lineup???

Starting rotation is wide open and I think at least 1 freshman will get there at some point. To your last sentence I'm kinda surprised by it but certainly not complaining, some kids would absolutely hold a grudge if they felt we didn't recruit them hard enough in high school and only come calling when they succeed in college. There's obviously a bunch else that goes into it but never underestimate personal feelings, lord knows in football we've passed on guys and they've had a chip on their shoulder about UF every game.

 

I thought Tejeda was a bigger loss based on physical attributes/potential, I get how it works but you can never have enough arms and pitching is definitely gonna be a question mark.

 

Agree with you especially since he had 3 years left.

 

Was he looking to be recruited by UF? Maybe he has some tie to Pitt.

No Bama, AU, or Ole Miss in the regular season this coming year.

 

Fall game against dawgs on October 27 in Jax, night before the football game.

 

Posted in schedule thread but yeah feels like we drew the short stick this year. Not sure what the War Eagles have back but seems like a transition year for both Bama and Ole Miss, instead we get Arkansas and LSU (both away) good stuff.

SEC is a grind but "fun" little stretch in the middle (April 12 - May 5), just gotta tread water and find out what we're made of.

I would think that projections like this might have an effect on Coppola's return. I'll be pleasantly surprised if he throws another pitch for us.

 

But he won't go that high if he hasn't pitched in 3 years, he will have to show something game wise

 

Agreed, I feel like they (MLB/Milb) will basically assume the “prove it to me” stance to solidify their choice draft wise. Coming back to game ready is not easy anytime especially when it’s both back and arm. Wishing him the best.

 

The headline of the UF link for the fall schedule- Gators Unveil 2023 Fall Baseball Slate - Florida Gators - doesn't mention that the article includes a newcomer roster, which certainly interests me. Other than numbers, there's not much new info, but the numbers seem to answer at least a question or two on who might return, Tucker Talbott had worn 32, which now is assigned to Grayson Smith and Sam Sloan had 21, now worn by Caden McDonald.

Robertson 55th? I truly hope the kid gets the bat going and gets to that point. His defense really came together the latter part of the season.
