No I’m not. I said every coach is evaluated and is accountable to their team You are saying Napier is not It’s ok to change your mind. Napier is obviously responsible for the team
I said Napier is NOT on the hot seat and he needs 4 years to fix what the last coach left him. Now quit changing the meaning of what I post.
I never said he was on the hot seat. If you agree with me that coaches are evaluated then what exactly are you attacking me for?
Rick - it’s truly annoying to watch this snarky guys’ condescending attitude get under your skin. You are a better man than me, but you put up with too many of his “trying to educate you” or “this may be foreign to you” or his higher-than-you “obvious truths” before you finally put him on ignore
LOL. Three games into his Florida tenure, and he's playing "as well as he can" according to you. Go figure. The irony of this comment. You stare at the data and talk about "context" without actually watching what is happening on the field. And you're the same dude who ignores paramount variables while you claim to be some kind of super analyst or whatever. You're the last person who should "educate" anyone on anything related to football.
So your response is “I watch it so I know better”. Got it I’m not the one claiming I’m a super analyst. I’m just quoting widely recognize and used data points of being that actually make football personnel decisions. You are the one saying you know better than the scouting industry because you watch
It was certainly more pleasant around here until matt resurfaced. Just a couple of observations - using the phrase “at risk” is disingenuous wrt job performance, BN hasnt done anything to date to merit this phrase when its usually used in conjunction with consistent and repeated under performance of one’s duties -defending the use of advanced metrics to deride the performance of our QB when he made great decisions and displayed accuracy and touch all the while dominating the game in the 2nd Q (i dont give a damn how his advanced metrics place him relative to others) - your distaste for winning at the expense of the metrics is baffling or maybe not (football is about matchups and week to week opponents that have different personalities weaknesses) we will have advantages some weeks that determine use of a game plan that necessitates forgoing the plays that you favor from dissecting the metrics - no one can positively say if the current style of play is sustainable but until it is validated as yeah or nay enjoy the ride -hopefully we are witnessing an evolution of philosophy on offense that requires incremental change based on personnel and experience -clearly we need to upgrade the special team’s performance - i look forward to the rest of the season and i hope matt chooses to spend more time with his new found friends on other platforms he’s found that better appreciate his analytical approach to quantifying our team’s performance
No, my response is that you're a fraud. I don't pretend that I know better than anyone. We have been on this merry-go-round before, and there's no need to rehash the same BS we talked about in the offseason because it'll never get through to you. But sure, put words in my mouth, all because you are too busy looking at the data instead of, you know, actually watching the games. "You are the one saying you know better than Billy Napier because you read numbers." See how that works?
Honestly the massive falsehoods on the board has made me quite defensive. I apologize for that Im trying to walk a fine line. Rick does not believe head coaches at the college level are evaluated by performance. He deserves to be educated on the topic and I’m trying to help him out while navigating all his snark. I mean look at all his responses based on my comment that everyone gets their performance evaluated. 99.99% of people would realize that’s an obvious truth and quite innocent. He is either needs to be educated on the FACT that employees are evaluated on performance or he’s trying to imply that I think Napier should be fired.
For the sake of fairness, I'd just arbitrarily restate the old maxim, "When you find yourself in a hole, maybe stop digging." LOL!
Perhaps you are the fraud since you are unwilling to learn anything about the game that you supposedly watch? If you are some super scout that is able to predict things better than modern analytics then you clearly should be employed by a NFL team. You are the one claiming superiority. I’m simply quoting what the paid personnel on football teams actually use. If your eyes are better take it up with the personnel departments, not me. Your fake God complex is growing old.
Are you going to start doing anything about the massive personal attacks you allow on this board? If you want it to be Reddit that’s fine, just be consistent
You make a lot of bad assumptions, which is no surprise to me because everything you say is complete BS. Like I've explained to you countless times, I agree that an analytical approach can be extremely valuable. But without proper context, the data is useless. So forget about the numbers for a bit, and just tell me this....through three games, what are the weaknesses you see in Mertz's game? Don't quote stats; I'm talking about specific areas of his game that need improvement. Let's hear what you think.
