Except that they didn't fail, unless one sets the bar at an absolute and thus unreasonable height. They significantly reduced the likelihood of severe disease and death, exactly what one would want with vaccines. And where people who were vaxxed and still got sick or died, we have to think about why and that why starts with the nature of infectious disease itself spreading at pandemic rates.

We've been keeping excess mortality numbers for decades. And those numbers reflect more than 1.1m excess deaths since March 2020 over the expected number, which is based on fairly stable patterns of death. No shortage of criticism to be had about the media (though we should include social media too), but exaggeration of covid's deadliness is not one of them.

I don't live with fear. I live with information. And knowledge is power. You, on the other hand, live in ignorance. Anecdotes don't move me. Actual, peer reviewed data from all over the world, on the other hand, does. And as already posted, Fraiman's anecdotes and analysis has several major flaws.

They failed miserably. In fact it can be argued the delta wave was far worse because we rolled out the shot telling people you will not get covid. One of the lies people do not think about that was beyond harmful. I knew as many people who took the shot and got delta as I did that did not take the shot and got delta. It was a complete joke. While NI fell apart with omicron. I did not know anyone that got alpha but then got delta. We knew NI was superior at that time but they pushed forward with the lies.

There were so many red flags. And for good reason. As time played out...we see these shots should have never been authorized for anyone under 65 at any point. For those over 65 that did not get alpha eua...okay. But it should have been pulled as well as time went on. We could have run RCTs to prove the drug was safe with demographics that were low risk at that point. But no. We slammed the thing on everyone and continue to do so. What we are doing in public health is the antithesis of medicine and science. It is the antithesis of public health!

The US looks bat$#!+ crazy right now with our guidance. Seriously. How some of you still listen to these idiots in public health when you know your doctor is not pushing it. The great Paul Offit did not even take the bivalent booster in the past (most here likely do not even know that because public health/media and the cdc does not want you to know that). Yet here some of you are tunnel visioned as ever.

Look at the chart. How many more deaths would there have been had those 18 to 65 not been vaccinated? Tens of thousands. But the vaccine is ineffective, right? Bullcrap. It saves lives.

If they failed, then you need to explain why there were far higher rates of death among unvaccinated compared to vaccinated, even with delta?

I think we all have to grant that vaccines didn't hold up nearly as well as hoped in protecting against infections during delta, but there is simply not a shred of evidence that can contradict their holding up extremely well against death through both omicron and delta.

Now you're bringing in natural immunity. Okay.

Yes, there is some evidence that NI was more robust than had been expected, but not necessarily better than being vaccinated. But to achieve NI, one needs to get infected first and a key reason why vaccines are so valuable the world over is because they allow for protections with lower risks of sickness and/or death in taking the vaccination compared to actually getting infected.

I'm shocked you haven't gotten tired of this with all your facts and evidence being ignored.

It's like the Harlem Globetrotters vs the Washington Generals at this point except if half the Generals got food poisoning and they replaced them with random spectators from the crowd.

Nobody died from a non-existent disease.

1.1 million died from the effects of panic and despair. I’ve laid this out and will be happy to do so again.

Scientific American. If you don't trust this source, look at Switzerland's numbers. Every age group 20 and older, the unvaccinated die at higher rates. If the world had followed your recommendations, tens of thousands, if not hundred of thousands more would've died.

    Pure conjecture on your part.

Whenever the real data was presented. We saw the same exact thing. The elderly with comorbidities died. Shot or no shot. The lies peddled in the media were evil and wrong. Every once in a while they would mess up and post an article on vaccinated verse unvaccinated deaths. And every time the extrapolation showed the vaccinated were the ones dying. But everyone just heard hospitals had 95% unvaccinated. Pure lies based on the hard data.

Unfortunately there is not good data period. But when you get the hard stuff it paints the picture we knew and know. Old with comorbidities is the group dying. Regardless of the shot.

Unfortunately since the shot we have seen a massive rise in all cause excess deaths. Add to it the millions killed and harmed by lockdowns across the world.

We screwed this up. But you certainly are still part of the 10% fighting to not believe reality.

Real data? Post the "real data," please. Because every reliable data source, from every country all say the same thing. The vaccine saved lives, and by rate, the unvaccinated died, and are still dying at higher rates than the vaccinated.

I posted my sources. I can post dozens of more, all with the same conclusion. Where is your "real data" source?

No source, then everything you said is 100% wrong. It's nothing but unsubstantiated bull crap.

I haven’t posted much on hiking lately. Fun story…
On July 4 I was hiking a relatively remote but not overly difficult trail. Didn’t pass anyone the whole day. On the way back down, there was a tree branch sticking out onto the trail I didn’t see, and I fell. No biggie usually, you fall and get up. This time I fell directly on my elbow. It felt broken but I wasn’t sure, all I knew was that it hurt a fair amount and I couldn’t bend it. Was hoping it was just a funny bone, but the pain didn’t subside.
So now I have about 1.7 miles back to my car, no phone signal, and no one else on the trail. Had to walk back (which shockingly wasn’t terrible when my arm was in a specific position, except the anxiety over not wanting to fall again). I purposely didn’t feel under my elbow because if it was a compound fracture I didn’t want to go into shock. When I made it back to my car I did check, and thankfully it wasn’t.
Next dilemma, try to get to nearest signal point and call for help, or try and make it to a local hospital, or drive the 1.5 hours back to metro DC where the care would be better. I was feeling relatively ok, so I decided to drive back here. Found out I had a distal humorus fracture, tore off the ball joint to the elbow (it was sideways), sheered the side of the bone, and tore off both tendons. So yeah, big surgery, lots of recovery, which is still very much ongoing.
All from a simple fall forward.

anyway, just getting back out some in the last few weeks, this was this weekend. The sister hike to the one I hurt myself on, but plenty of people, by design :).

It’s in this thread. Not going to do it again. I even ran the numbers out for you. It was clear the lies coming out and thankfully there were a few sources that provided the hard data.

Public Health England provided the hard data that was at complete odds with the bs being put out by the media to scare people like you.

One day you will realized you were lied to. One day you will realize that almost no one is being admitted to hospitals right now for Covid. With Covid is a completely different thing. It is sick what these idiots in public health are doing right now. Telling people to jab their 6 month old? Please tell me you are not naive enough to do something that dumb?!

Agree, not the best looking, but no, I didn't make them. If I did, mine would be much nicer.

Remains that nearly 2/3rds of covid deaths since April 2021 were of unvaxxed despite their comprising only 1/3rd of the population. And given that NI offers protection, it's likely that many of the unvaxxed who died never had covid until the infection that led to their deaths.

Beautiful photo and I'm glad you are on the mend. That's a pretty scary story about your fall. Truth is that we take certain risks, esp. on remote hikes. It's always an adventure, but suffer a lower body injury and gettin' out could get sketchy.
