This is why the second half of our game against Tennessee was so important to play out, and is underrated as a whole. We needed to challenge our defense... and they proved just how good they can be against a high flying offense. We never wore down and we withstood the barrage of bombs that Tennessee was lobbing at our young and talented defense. That was great in-game experience that will be invaluable to our young defense, especially against other pass-happy teams in the future. You can't get that kind of teaching experience in practice.
You disappeared from this thread? Where did you go? Don't you like the use of three data sets on Mertz instead of your preferred two that you could use to gaslight? Come back and engage with the simps. Tell us now how other data sets should be pulled in to show how an 80% passer does not fit in Napier's offense.
He hasn’t been logged in since Saturday afternoon according to his profile…all you need to know. Statistically speaking he would have logged in at least once after the game
Sometimes you just have to watch the games to evaluate. We still have a long way to go, but may be a graph could tell us that
It was his 1st damn game, on the road, with only 1 veteran WR. Were you expecting FROSH to post 15-20 catches for 200+ yards???
That is some pretty sporty completion percentages. Unless the SEC is back to the run and shoot era, I think that those %'s are bound to come down from those lofty heights.
I expect we will continue to see a lot of horizontal to our passing game as a way to slow down LB, so our run game can flourish. With Mertz at qb and EW3 healthy we will see Mertz close to 80% each week. Mertz can be really accurate on intermediate routes too,but we aren't getting to see a lot of it.
Actually I was banned for defending myself against Skinks constant personal attacks. Luckily I was able to find a much more analytical respectful Gator chat In terms of the game it fits precisely into what we’ve seen. Defense continues to make huge improvements and was the driving force of the W which is exactly what I said had to happen for this year to be an improvement. ETN is a stud and really is the engine of the O. Passing game remains dicey. The passing stats are average in CFB (P5 G5). QBR, EPA, SP+, etc. But realistically we’ve had 2 games. If the UT game is the norm then the passing attack would be solid. You can probably pin some on scheme and some on Mertz. Mertz is playing as well as he can though. We had like zero air yards in the game. That isn’t an exaggeration. So it’s hard to see how the UT okay passing is sustainable. But that’s why you need sample size. But it’s cool if many of you wish to be ignorant, you certainly have the right to be uneducated.
So? We had almost unbelievably low air yards. Completion percentage is a surface level stat with no context if you don’t do the research
I’ve never moved the goalposts. His results determine his job security and he is always going to get 3 seasons. You have to be pretty damn sensitive to take offense to that. That’s how it works for all coaches
