BTW have we heard from Mullen after Saturday night? Sounds like he bet the house on the Vols.

I agree with some of that. But, if you're concluding/implying that BN may be listening to the drivel emanating from a hand full of trolls and ninnies, I could not disagree more. And FTR, just as "fans" and certain idiots in the media are free to say whatever pops into their tiny minds, they can expect some blowback as well. After all, you do tend to get back what you put out in life.

I don't think he actually hates the Gators, he just loves his paycheck a lot more so he generates a lot of clickbait articles.

Its a terrible system that the internet news delivery system has inadvertently created. Now each news outlet can measure exactly who is being read and who is not (and so can the writers). The more controversial topics and bombastic takes you create the higher the clicks. The era of measured, accountable journalism is pretty much over.

    Disagree.

As Doering said, Gator fans are some of the most irnorant and entitled fans in college football.

This board, the week after the Utah game, proved Doering was correct.

What big time University doesn’t have a “lunatic fringe” in their fan base? The headline insinuates that it’s just the Gators. Why didn’t he write one about FSU’s win over LSU? More than the fringe has wanted MN gone for a while. Like this article is going to convince a lunatic fringe to stop. Ridiculous. It is more of a slam towards Gator fans in general since the lunatic fringe is on the fringe. There have been valid points made both good and bad about BN. One big win doesn’t invalidate the criticism just as one big loss doesn’t either. BN has a ways to go and I hope he succeeds (I think he will).

I was more or less responding to idiot Bianchi and his implying that our opinions matter to Napier. I didn’t even read his article (or need to) to know he’s going after the fans for clicks. I agree that Napier does not read what we write about him or care. The point is, we’re free to criticize someone that makes that much money, especially given a lot of us invest our emotions, time, and money into the program. Screw Bianchi.

    In my head--- UF
Let's for the moment take a guess on the entirety of gatorfandom. For the sake of argument, let's say there are 1 million fans.

let's say that 25,000 of them make all kinds of noise on the web. That's that's .25 of 1%

Now presume that some fans of other schools pretend to be disgruntled gators. Say another 25000

Who cares? If I post 1000 times a week here do folks say "all you dam gator fans" want CBN gone?

That's still 950,000 fans who are good, or don't care that much, or JUST ARE NOT ON SOCIAL MEDIA ALL DAY LONG

Any fan knows it's $32 million for the buyout. Billy isn't going anywhere, and 99% of fans are in agreement with that

Please feel free to speak for yourself anytime, but kindly leave the millions of rational Gator fans who don't deserve that kind of blanket indictment out of it - like CD should have probably done. I'll be the first to admit that getting a little frustrated with trolls or super zealots is easy. I do it all the time. But tarring everyone with the same brush (BM) is apparently just as easy too.

I don't think he tarred everyone with the same brush. But we have a large number of spoiled, entitled fans who love to come on this board and vent their spleen over every little thing they think the coaches did wrong. Of course, they are all convinced that Spurrier would never had done such things.

It was so bad after the Utah game that the mods started a thread asking people to please calm down, but I am sure they didn't really mean it.

Our impatient, spoiled fans are a problem, whether they want to admit it or not; I'll trust Doering's judgment on that. While we may not be the worst fan base in the country, we're awfully close.

Consider this: we ran off two hall of fame, national championship winning coaches. Who does that?

And the fact that people on this board are so insecure about being labelled as such says it all to me.

If that's how you see it, that's how you see it. But I strongly doubt that anyone here is under the impression that we are the most patient or circumspect fans in the world - far from it. As a matter of fact, I've commented on that fact quite a bit here lately myself. But I agree with an earlier poster's remarks about MB's motives and MO. The vast majority of Florida fans simply do not subscribe to the fire Billy idiocy, (square one of today's kerfuffle) and to suggest otherwise is to do millions of great Gator fans a disservice. But to your final point, I wouldn't be surprised if SOS did get fed up with some less than supportive folks. But it wasn't the rank-and-file fans that let him down during and after the FSU thuggery fiasco. Also, FTR, Urban left when he did because he had wrecked the program in the frantic quest for instant gratification - and he knew it. He basically got the hell out of town before the whole thing collapsed - which of course it did. I know that's not a popular opinion, but it is mine.

The SOW fired Taggert after 21 games. But their actual Admin (not even just their fans) probably started considering firing him after about 14 games.

The fans probably wanted him fired after about 5 games
    —-
The whole notion about UF fans running off 2 future HoF coaches in Spurrier and Meyer is just an easy excuse to dig into Gator fans. In actuality, there were many other reasons on why those 2 coaches decided to move on, boring (but practical career-type) reasons, and not because of the “fans” ( waaaaaahhhh, it was because of the faaaaanssss :emoji_tired_face:)

Spurrier wanted a new challenge. He's restless. He's a maverick. He's not a guy to stay in one place forever.

    Meyer burnt himself out.

All the other guys we fired as we should have so yeah we ran them off.

    Inside your head.
I still think Florida goes 7-5 or 8-4 this season. The youth and inexperience on this team are going to show up on the road. That still puts CBN on track to have a big 2024 when his current kids have a year or two under their belts. If he can keep that 2024 class together and win the battle of the portal the Gators will be deep and talented and should win the East. We'll be playing in the SECCG against who knows....maybe even Texas or OU.
With a break here and there we could wind up in the playoffs and any negative talk about CBN will be ancient history.
P.S. I'm not discounting the idea that we may catch lightning in a bottle and win the East this season. We have a very capable HC and a wunderkind at DC. Who knows? It could happen.

I was following you until “should win the east.” That’s a stretch. Sure, it could happen but it’s unlikely just yet. Playoffs next year expand font they? If so, I’d say a good shot at that. Winning the east at thi point means we are in the driver seat as the top dog in college football. I’m thinking Ladway may bring us there but maybe in his second or third year if so. There’s a long way to go from where we are. Just week to week trying to beat the Kentuckys is where we are.

BS. What we have is a few folks who virtue-signal their (self-perceived) high level of fandom by putting down others.

FTR: I have never clicked on any link to any article written by what's-his-name. And I never will.
