‘A devastating financial blow’: McDonald’s franchisee group slams California’s ‘draconian’ fast food bill — here's why they say it'll cost small business owners $250K a year in california by april 2024, be prepared to pay out the wazoo for food there, that is if the people they hire can actually get the order right the first 2 times, unlike most fast food places around gainesville, and of course the bleeding hearts are all for a " living " wage, don't think there, wendy's, burger king etc are ment to be living wage jobs.
taking 20.00 per hour in context, this is over 2.00 an hour more than the striking auto workers say entry level employees make, doing alot more than asking " do you want fries with that ?"
If workers might get more money, you know buckeyegator will be there to get mad and take the corporations line
You right wingers are like a broken record. This is the same argument I heard several years ago when California originally signed their $15 minimum wage law
Workers who don't make a living wage probably qualify for government assistance... I'm tired of subsidizing McDonald's and Walmarts business model.
Not in California but the Taco Bell a few blocks from my house has been advertising at $19 an hour for well over a year now. Their prices don’t look much different than others I’ve stopped at on road trips.
Lets see, the average rent in San Diego is ~$3200 (its lower and higher in other places), which would be out of reach for anyone working for $20/hr. at 40 hours a week. Its definitely not "afford your own place" or buy a house type money.
do you think standing at a cash register and asking for your order is worth 20.00 an hour, and more each year with increases?
